I had a friend that was the head mechanic at Conway yards and he loved these old ALCos. He thought they were the easiest locomotives to work on. I liked our ALCo S-1 for that reason too. The problem was getting parts for a locomotive built in 1943, but it still does it's duties 73 years later.
