Here's a model of one of the 4300s, after it was re-numbered in 1957 to free-up numbers for the diesels being introduced...

Ten of these Light 2-10-2s were originally assigned, by the USRA, to the Boston & Albany, and were later transferred to the Big Four (CCC&StL), before being sold to the CNR in 1927, undergoing several modifications during the late '20s, and again in the '30s, and '40s.

Here's a link to a thread showing how the model (also belonging to Senor Nutbar) was built.

cn nutbar Wrote:Hello exohead---this locomotive is a 2-10-2 "Santa Fe".The CNR designated their 2-10-2's in the T class which were divided into 4 sub-classes---T1 (4000-4044),T2 (4100-4104),T3 (4200-4209) which were ex Boston and Albany USRA 2-10-2's and the T4 series (4300-4332)

Very cool! I admit to not knowing much about Steam power beyond Mikados and the specific locomotives that the East Broad Top and Kish Valley RR used (I have lots of knowledge about those Big Grin)

Here's one of CNR's T4 locomotives on the inbound roundhouse lead at Leetown.Personally I think these steam locomotives were the best looking of the T Class especially with their original tenders as shown in this photo.

What's that odd looking one, third from right?

Re: Action at the roundhouse - cn nutbar - 01-09-2018

U4A Northern (4-8-4) #6400.The Canadian National Railway had 5 streamlined locomotives built in 1936 at the Montreal Locomotive Works---6400-6404.These passenger locomotives were used on the railroad's first class consists including the Continental and Super Continental passenger trains.Later in their careers after they were replaced by diesels they could be found on less glamorous jobs throughout the CNR system including hauling freight trains.

Re: Action at the roundhouse - Amalynn - 01-12-2018

Steam switchers are such sweet little things. My very first model steam locomotive was an 0-6-0 switcher from Mantua, I think. Might have been Model Power.
