Wayne RE: Action at the roundhouse - cn nutbar - 09-29-2020 thanks for the heads up Doc---another example of a good picture gone bad.Looks like the "five finger crane" will be busy. RE: Action at the roundhouse - cn nutbar - 09-29-2020 You can always count on a sister to get things back on track. Here's another shot of CNR U2G #6213. When I click on the data, there's a mention that there's a "bad link", and a suggestion to contact Flickr. Sounds as if they're having some of the same issues as photobucket, which has seriously deteriorated. I recently found one of my albums there with photos from someone else's account, which included dolls, damaged or disfigured dolls, along with firearms, and photos of people, too.....most of my own photos (about 300 of them) were missing from that particular album. I contacted photobucket, and was told that they could recover my lost photos and remove the intruders, too. I was surprised (and pleased) that they did. Not only did they restore my photos from that album, but also around 20 albums that I had deliberately deleted because the site was becoming so hard to use. For some unknown reason, I cannot post pictures from photobucket in this Forum, which explains why you see fewer of mine here...probably a relief for some viewers, I'd guess. I'll likely stay with photobucket until my subscription comes up for renewal next August, but unless they restore it to something akin to what it was, I'll be leaving at that time. It's a beauty. Charlie RE: Action at the roundhouse - cn nutbar - 12-06-2020 Hi Charlie---This is one of the nicest models I've ever purchased---it's in pristine condition without any flaws, even the soldering is perfect. At this point I'm seriously thinking about putting it in a display case and leaving it unpainted. If I should change my mind I know an excellent painter. I only have 2 brass locomotives, both PRR B6 0-6-0 and they were tarnished enough that I wasn't afraid to paint them. The one I was thinking about will get painted too, if I decide I want it that badly. In your case if it looks that great and is a poor runner, then a static display in a hermetically sealed case would be smart, and a good safe investment. Of course it could always be a special excursion locomotive for photo purposes. Charlie |
