Viperman's HO layout progress - viperman - 03-02-2009 Hi everyone! Long time no see! Rather than copy/paste the entire thread from Zealot, I'll just put a link to that thread I made for progress made on my layout, and any new updates will go here. The Zealot thread: http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112267 The new stuff: I have made a little progress, but nothing much. No new pics since I last posted, unfortunately. I have gotten a little work done on carving out the river/lake but still have a bit to go with that. I was at a show yesterday, which I posted on Zealot since I didn't know about this forum yet, and bought a bridge. Musket Miniatures cast resin wood plank bridge with pewter railings, 2" wide by 4"long. With this bridge, I've decided that rather than having a tunnel in the back corner, I'll use a rock cut with this bridge for the trucks. Unfortunately, thats about it. Hopefully I'll be able to post new updates before too long Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - nomad - 03-02-2009 Hey Viperman. home ! Do you still have that hour's drive to where your layout is? Loren Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - Trucklover - 03-02-2009 Steven!! to the new Gauge Glad to see you made it over here, and im looking forward to some more layout progress from you Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - viperman - 03-02-2009 Thanks for the responses! Yes, the layout is still nearly an hour drive from me, at my parents' house. Hopefully I can get some work done on it, I'm starting to get that drive again where I want to work on it Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - Russ Bellinis - 03-03-2009 Welcome home to the Gauge, glad you found us. Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - ocalicreek - 03-05-2009 Heloo Viperman! Glad to hear you are still out there and still modeling (if even only occasionally and at a distance!) Looking forward to progress photos! Galen Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - viperman - 03-05-2009 Nice to see everyone looking for some updates. Now I really do need to get something done this weekend Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - viperman - 03-16-2009 Ok, so I never went out to my parents last weekend, but I did yesterday. While there yesterday, I did put in some time on the layout. I started to add in foam to what I decided will be a rock cut instead of a tunnel, to help get the shape of the curve, and also to make it a little bit narrower so the bridge I bought will fit across the gap. Thats really about all I did. I took a couple pictures of that, and also a couple to show how I've been carving out the lake and river. First up, the rock cut: And now a couple of the lake and river: Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - LiveSteamer - 03-16-2009 Coming along nice steven. That rock face looks like it will be pretty neat when you get some plaster on it Re: Viperman's HO layout progress - viperman - 03-16-2009 Thanks Josh! I don't really know what the rack faces will look like quite yet, but I do have a vision in my mind that's starting to pull together in that corner |
