The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Good Morning Everyone,

Today is going to be bit warmer than it was yesterday with a high of 45 but very windy here. Looking at the weather for Thanksgiving and Friday, they are calling for more snow but that could change so who knows for sure. We have to take my fiance's daughter to school and then head out to the fiance's doctor for a post-op follow up appointment. After that who knows what we will be getting ourselves into. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE

We are watching the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade today and then the fiance wants to watch the dog show right after if we have time which I don't think we will. We have to go to her sisters house for 2pm for Thanksgiving dinner. We really have nothing else planned for today. Hope everyone has a safe holiday and if you're going out for black friday shopping, please be careful.

Take care my friends

Good morning all, and happy day after Thanksgiving (aka: Black Friday). Traffic is light since most vehicles are in shopping center parking lots. Yesterday was OK, I cooked Thanksgiving dinner (3 1/2 hours), took about 20 minutes to eat and two hours to clean up. Each year I vow not to do it again next year, but I don't listen. Way too much work just to feed one person. The good thing is that I have enough turkey leftover to last me until Christmas.

I'll stay home today again, Pat will have our family Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow when everyone can be there. No need for Christmas shopping, I made all my Christmas gifts over the summer, now all I have left is to wrap them. I'll stay away from stores and from the Internet for a while. Too easy to get caught up in the buying frenzy.

Take care, enjoy this long holiday weekend, stay warm and stay safe.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

We had a great thanksgiving yesterday until we got home. I wasn't feeling too good before we went to her sisters and felt even worse after getting home. Not sure what we all have but I got over mine in 24 hours but Ang and araina are still both very sick. Running 102 temps with the chills, aches, pains, coughing. If no one is better by tomorrow, off we go to one of the urgent cares in the area.

Myself on the other hand, I am getting everything in order for Christmas. Instead of using the bachmann track this year, I am going to tack down track on the platform this year. I have to get up to the future mother in laws and get the bigger platform that way I can have more track laid down and a few model buildings up.

Now the weather ( 28 degrees ) on the other hand, well we are getting some snow but not exactly what they were calling for. So far we have a dusting of snow but it's just enough that it makes the roads slick. I did go out the the grocery store to get some things to start baking cookies and fudge this upcoming week and next. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are staying warm this time of year.

Take care my friends

Hello Blue
COLD, windy & snowing. Hi of 28 for today, the normal is 40, not gonna see that anytime soon. Saw some snow stranded cars on FB this morning. Couldn't help but wish poopy pants was out there in one of those EVs he kept trying to force us into buying. Big game today between Michigan & the Buckeyes. I live in Michigan but was born and raised a Buckeye so that is the way I always lean.
Cartoons, breakfast, and laundry, all done. I'm ready for the game.

Happy December, gang.

22 and sunny at the moment and it won't get much better for the remainder of the day.

I had a fun Thanksgiving. On Thursday my daughter, her husband, and I ate a lot while cooking even more. Then on Friday we went into the Black Hills on a Christmas tree hunting expedition. Found one very easily and were back home by a little after noon. Friday evening we watched our college team go down in flames yet again with a last second field goal. Exactly the same outcome as last year.

Yesterday I drove home, encountering some snow along the way which slowed me a little in a few places but overall an easy trip. Today is laundry and tomorrow is a trip to the gym to pay for the food sins of the weekend.

All stay safe.

Good morning folks

It is a cold 32 currently with a high of 38. When I took my first trip up to the project site this morning it was a brisk 26.

I had to work Friday. It was an easy day as the contractor did not work. I caught up on paperwork and some other administrative duties. When I got home the wife and daughter went out to do some shopping. Our living room and master bedroom have been undergoing wall repairs. Saturday my daughter, my son, and I put the outdoor furniture in storage in the garage. I was unable to get the snowblower started and I believe the culprit is old gasoline. Once I can get the gas can refilled, I will try again. Afterwards we ran errands to the post office, Springfield Mall, and the grocery store. Sunday we put away most of the Thanksgiving decorations and began putting up some Christmas decorations.

I was able to build a couple of Accurail Lehigh & New England and three New York Central & Hudson River 36 ft double sheath boxcars. I renumber a Accurail Central Vermont 36 ft fowler boxcar and two Southern 36 ft double sheath boxcars. I also tuned up, did final checks on about 20 of the cars I recently built. I began the shakedown running of my new Rapido Lehigh & New England FA1.

Tonight if the painters finish we will be doing some clean up and putting some things back in their place. I need to check on the fishpond and make sure the heater and air stones are working. If I can manage on the way home today, I need to stop at Kohl’s to drop off an Amazon return. If time permits I have a couple of boxcars I have to fix loose weights and three to seal. I would like to try to assemble a couple of kits tonight. I also want to continue the shakedown runs of the FA1 and begin the shakedown runs for the FB1.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good afternoon, laundry day today. The power company has super-low rates in the winter between 10AM and 3PM on weekdays, so it doesn't really pay to do laundry or dishes on weekends or early on weekdays. How cheap you ask, "peak" period (4PM-7PM) is 32.5 cents/kwh, "off peak", 12.5 cents and "super off-peak" 3.5 cents. Unfortunately, there was and electric dryer in the house when we bought it, a gas one would be even cheaper to run but the ROI isn't worth the cost to change.

Speaking of gas, Costco and Sam's dropped their prices around 10 cents to $2.89, most other stations are $3.29 and up.

Temps on the other hand are up. We should get over 80 later today. Right now it's 79 (feels like 86). We're talking 10 degrees above normal. Still no real rain in the forecast.

That's it for now, have a great rest of the day and from what I see on the news, a lot of you need to stay indoors.

Good morning, Tuesday already, still got some turkey in the fridge, might still have for a few more days.

Got early morning appointments for the next three days, I'm hoping that they will all fix issues that I'm going there for. The older we get, the harder it is to do anything, healing is included.

We did hit 81 yesterday, hot even for us this time of year, but no complaints after a grueling hot summer.

That's all I have time for right now, meet a friend for breakfast at Denny's, then off to my appointment.

Take care, have a great day and stay safe....
