The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Tom, it looks like winter has returned to Iowa.  We had a beautiful day but I still spent the day in the house. I am regaining my strength and the blisters have cleared up. I am on 2 more new drugs to help with the recovery

I hope to be able to go to the Y nest week. They have a therapee pool and a hot tub that sounds like it may be some help.

Stay safe, spring is coming.

Happy Spring, gang!

Around here we bid a fond farewell to winter yesterday with a total of 9.6 inches of snow and winds over 50 mph. With today's high is supposed to be near 40 and predictions of highs in the 40s and 50s for the next several days a lot of the snow will disappear rather quickly.

My big project for today will be to clean out the 2 foot high wall of snow across the end of the driveway but I need to repair the snow blower first. I noticed a bracket coming loose. I'll need to remove a housing and add a lock washer to prevent further problems. The snow blower is 25 years old ans till running great but does have an occasional twinge of old age.

All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

It's a moderate 38 degrees outside my window this morning and the NWS has assigned a high near 50. Lots more snow will be disappearing.

The U.S. Postal Service has left me with a question. They were able to deliver the mail on Wednesday in the middle of a blizzard but there was no mail delivery yesterday when the temperature was mild and the streets were clear. Go figure.

Back to the gym today. Otherwise not much planned.

All stay safe.

Good morning folks

Winter is back with an extremely cold wind with a temperature of 38 degrees. They say the high will be 55.

I have been working on trying to get the Walthers Proto F7A and F7B running smoothly the last couple of nights. I took the A unit apart and found the trucks overloaded with grease. I need to clean them out.

Not sure what is happening this weekend. There is laundry to do and begin some spring-cleaning chores. If the weather is cooperative, I can dissemble the wind destroyed gazebo. We will have some errands to run such as the grocery store.

I will continue working on the F-units and hopefully get them to run smoothly. I have a couple of new locomotives I want to test and break-in. I need to paint and weather some tracks before I can place ballast. I also have some areas where I need to fix the ballast. For a change of pace, I might work on assembling some rolling stock kits and station platforms and maybe the Trade Tower structure.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Friday 3/21/25
Hello Blue. We have sun this morning, temps are 27/50for the day.
Well adding to my wife's fall she now has a nasty case of Shingles. Probably from the stress of the fall. I have had the shots, she did not.
D3Rs club house will be open tonight so I plan on a visit.
No special plans for the weekend.

Greeting, gang.

Sunny and 32 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Supposed to get to the mid 50s later on. Slight chances for rain tonight and tomorrow.

Yesterday was quite other than the hour long phone cal from one of my daughters she was supposed to be studying for her classes but got distracted by something and decided to skip the studying and spend the day on the phone. I was her second lucky victim.

Just watched the F1 sprint race and there were no dramatics. Looking forward to tomorrow's full race. Up next for me this morning is laundry. If I feel energetic this afternoon I may take a ride on the bike. Looks like the sun just hit the thermometer in the back yard as the temp just jumped up 6 degrees.

All stay safe.

Good morning

I had to pick up et more prescriptions yesterday and one of them was pretty expensive. I did some shopping on line and found the same drug 15 bucks cheaper so I had my PCP switch the prescription.

While I was out I used the store shopping cart as a walker and walked about 1000 feet n the store.  I'm feeling it this morning but I feel I gained some strength.  I have lost 12 pounds, only 100 more to go.

I am hoping to work on a couple O gauge cars that I am gifting a friend.

Light rain is to turn to flurries here.

Happy International Bear Day, gang.

Some light rain just departing the area and leaving behind a cloudy 40 degrees. Supposed to clear off later and get into the 50s.

Yesterday was pretty unremarkable. Only major activities were laundry and a haircut. This morning I watched a rather routine Formula 1 race that had some major disqualification during inspection after the race was over. Nothing else really planned for the day.

Git a nice "present" from the Postal Service. I mailed in a credit card payment on March 3rd. It was due on the 11th. It arrive at the payment processor on the 19th. Thank you postal service for the $29 late fee and the $4 interest charge. Several other bills were slow in delivery also but that one was the worst.

All stay safe.

Good afternoon folks

It is 41 but for some reason feels a lot colder. High 45.

My son just asked about dismantling the wrecked gazebo today. I explained to him since I work outside in the cold the last thing I want to do is be outside working in the cold on my days off.

I finished cleaning and reassembling the trucks, gears, and wheels for the Proto F7A. I test ran the locomotive to make sure it was not surging. Since it passed the test I put the shell back on and the couplers. I then tested it with six pieces of rolling stock at all different speeds with no noticeable issues. Now I move on to the B-unit. BTW I found another reason to not like sound. The speakers make it far more difficult to work on the trucks and worm ears.

I have to do a few household chores before I start on the locomotive.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning folks

It is a rainy, chilly 45 currently. They say we will reach 54 before the day is done.

Yesterday was a lost day. I had one of achy, do feel motivated kind of days. I did eventually make a run to the grocery store and we did start taking down and putting away the St Patrick Day decoration. I never made it down to the workbench to start working on the F7B unit.

I will have to see what kind of energy I have tonight. I will probably take down the bins with St Patrick Day decoration ad start pulling out the Easter decorations. I hope to work on the B-unit. I might test another locomotive and break it in.

I hope everybody has a good day.
