We are still dealing with teething pains with the new boiler and the old pipes getting along. We are experiencing hammering in the pipes which is affecting the heating of several radiators. I had service techs at the house twice this week and it longs like when I get home I will be calling again.
I hope everybody has a good day.
Tom:
You probably know all this, but these are old school ideas for new/old installations.
Did they install an expansion tank and hammer arrestor in the system?
The new heaters sometimes don't require it, but the old piping always seems to need one.
Also, at the highest radiator, farthest from the heater (top floor opposite side of the house) Take a quart of water out of the drain cock.
The hammering is always a trapped air bubble somewhere.
Then do every drain cock farthest to closest.
Hopefully this will work!
