Good morning everyone, as Jim says, "sosdd" (had to look that one up). But he shouldn't have to worry about his knee too long because we should be in the 100's sometime next week and they're probably here to stay for a while.

Wow, Costco's gas just went down ten cents to $3.79, a few other stations down now at $4.15. I saw one GT station yesterday still at $3.99 so all is not lost just yet. Maybe because the snowbirds are mostly gone back home. It's noticeable in traffic, the Post Office and stores.

That's it, nothing significant going on today, maybe a few phone calls that I've been putting off. Need to call my ISP and satellite providers to see if I can't get a better deal or is it time to change. They just finished putting in new fiber in our neighborhood and a lot of folks are switching, so they can stream TV with faster service and unlimited data at around the same cost. I'm OK with what I have but I'd like to pay less for it and every once in a while it pays to change.

Y'all have a great day today, as Mr. Roarke used to say, "Smiles everyone".... a good way to go through the day.

Greetings, gang.

Clearing skies after the rain last night. Currently 60 headed for 70. Should be a nice day but a little breezy. Got an inch of rain overnight again. Varying chances for rain for the rest of the week. Interestingly enough the NWS is reporting only a quarter of an inch. The reporting station is only 2 miles from my house. I guess that's what they mean by locally heavy rain.

Very productive day yesterday. Got the license plates for my moped , got the yard mowed. Then ran the trimmer and blower to clean everything up. Also put the screen in the front storm door. Too cool yet to put the rest of the screens in. Then I spent a couple of hours planning for my road trip this summer including ordering another book for Route 66 in Oklahoma. Also managed to slip in a trip to the grocery store. Nothing really planned for today.

All stay safe.

Good evening

The storms we were supposed to have did not happen so I was able to get the grass mowed once again.

Gas was down to 3.21 today so I topped up the tank hoping to make it continue to fall.  I had to get a couple prescriptions so I decided to get the titles to my car and truck at the courthouse.  The banks used to send the titles automatically when you paid them off but all we get now is a letter telling us to go to the courthouse and pick them up. I have been sitting on those letters for 2 years now so I figured I better get the real McCoy before I lost the letters. The fee was $16 per title.

We have now been using T mobile for internet for 6 months and it has been fine. I really like having no wires running into the house and it is plenty fast which is a blessing because my wife and I do not always watch the same shows. Speeds are still comparing to what I was getting with cable and better than half the price I paid. We got a lifetime guarantee of $50 bucks a month,  I get emails from the cable company offering me service for 25 a month for 2 years but I played their silly games for 7 years and I know they have an extra charge for the modem so I will stay where I am. I actually get a faster upload speed with the 5G which is nice because I upload a lot of big photo files that I have scanned for the historical society     .

I am still hurting a bit with my back but it is improving so no complaints.

Stay safe and I hope no one suffers from storm damage during thos storm season

Greetings, gang.

51 going to 70 again with more rain in the near future. Could get over an inch again with chances for rain through Friday night.

Another productive day yesterday. Made a trip to a different grocery store which carries stuff that Walmart doesn't. Also made my first official trip on the moped. Interestingly enough I have managed to lose 3 pounds since I bought it. Also the new helmet, flag, and cover have been ordered and are due at various times over the next several days. Trip planning has shifted to a back burner while I await a book from Oklahoma. Nothing major planned for today.

Must be some serious problems over on the MR forum. It's been down for a couple of days. I don't know if it's just the antiquated software or the fact that Kalmbach has been purchased by Firecrown Media.

All stay safe.

Good morning all, another bright day in paradise, we should be back into the 90's and heading upwards.

I'm sorry to hear that MR forums have been down for a while, but even more, I was not aware that Kalmbach had been purchased by Firecrown Media. I haven't gotten the latest MR magazine and I'm not sure I will. My subscription is supposed to have expired a few months ago yet they've sent me a couple of issues past that, but I think they might have stopped. They never sent me a renewal notice or an invoice and they don't have my credit card # to automatically charge. That's OK, the cost was getting out of hand and I did not want to renew.

But, on the same note, I was just informed by our web host that we will be migrating to a new server which might involve some down time for Big Blue. They haven't said when or for how long, but they will let us know in advance so I will pass that on to you when that will happen.

That's it for now, Costco & Sam's down to $3.69 and a few stations closer to $4.00. We had around a 30 cent boost last week and I think they're saying, "Ooops, bad move".

I hope you all have a great day today and stay safe doing what you do best...

I haven't received mine yet either and my subscription doesn't run out until next year.  If it doesn't show in the next day or two I'll give them a call.

I have the June issues of both Model Railroader and Trains.
I hate to see the change, but the mags have been getting slimmer lately while RMC and Railfan have been thickening.

Good morning good people of Big Blue. Kinda early, had a chance to sleep in an extra hour today and what happened... I woke up before 2:00 and finally got up around 3:00. I usually go read the news and some comic strips while I'm having coffee, and the first news article I read was "how to go to sleep and/or go back to sleep"... Apparently, there's a technique where you pick a subject, then think of things about that subject in alphabetical order. This, I guess, is so boring or takes your mind off of other things, that it puts you to sleep. I will keep it in mind the next time I can't sleep.

We are back into the 90's and should be pushing 100 by the weekend. The record high for yesterday was 110 back in 1989.

As for gas, more stations are joining the $4.09 club, a few at $3.99, unless you're going north on I-17, then be prepared to pay up to $5.00 for regular.

No train stuff today, it's been a while but I do intend to get back to my layout as soon as I finish up another project I just now started. This one will keep my busy for a few weeks for sure, but if it works, it will be fun and rewarding. 'nuff said for now.

Have a great day, stay out of those tornadoes and other bad weather and by all means, stay safe...

Greetings, gang.

A beautiful day in store for me. Clear skies, light breezes, and a high supposedly in the mid 70s.

The sky cleared off last night enough for me to see the norther lights rather faintly. What got me were the people sitting in a lighted parking lot looking north in an attempt to see them. In other news I put gas in my new moped. When I went to pay for it the teller said her lawn mower took more gas than that thing did. Busy day yesterday. Went to the gym, did a 7 mile bike ride, mowed the lawn and cleaned off the sidewalk.

This morning is laundry and the soccer starting at 10 and lasting til about 1. The MR forum was back up to full speed this morning but I haven't heard anything about my missing June MR yet. I did send them an e-mail. Fingers crossed.

Congratulations to David (BR60103) and his wife on their 50th anniversary.

Gas was $3.31 yesterday.

All stay safe.

And a good Saturday morning to ya all. As usual, I forced myself to sleep in a bit longer, just an hour or so, but it feels good.

Nothing special going on here this weekend, temps in the 90's, weather gurus say it could hit 100 again by tomorrow. Gas is creeping down, more stations now at $3.99 to $4.04. Just bough some eggs at Walmart for $2.79, still double what they were a year ago, I even saw "pasture raised" large eggs going for over $6.00. I haven't a clue if that's worth it, most of the eggs I eat are in restaurants anyway and I'm sure they're not, "cage free" or otherwise special, egg farms are a production company and output is paramount.

Y'all have an enjoyable weekend, stay safe but have fun....

Hello Blue
Rain overnight, cloudy, hi in the 60s today.
Lots of folk in lower Michigan saw the northern lights last night, I looked at 1130 but, nothing.
Club meet tonight, should be well attended.
Gas was $3.35 and up.

Good morning good people, yet another new week is upon us. Getting warmer, low temp today is 66, high around 98, I guess I'm going to have to turn on the A/C pretty soon. Temps going up, gas prices slowly going down, more stations now at $3.99, going to fill up at Costco this morning at $3.69.

Went to Walmart the other day, wanted something selling for $7.00 and it was locked in a case in the pharmacy area. There was an employee right there so she opened the case and got what I wanted, then said, "I'll take it over to register 11". I said, "no you won't, if you can't trust me with a $7.00 item while I have close to $100 of other stuff in my cart, just put it back". I know that's store policy, but they should give the employee a bit of judgmental latitude in who might want to just steal that item or who would pay. There are so many other items nearby that sell for $20 and more that are not locked up. I guess I don't blame them, shoplifting is getting way out of hand. What gets me more though is when they fire someone for trying to stop a shoplifter. We all pay when they have these "hands off" policies and so most of what they steal winds up on eBay.

Speaking of eBay, I also found what I wanted at Walmart on eBay for as low as $4.00 and as high as $60. Are people crazy? Why would anyone actually pay that much for something that most likely is watered down since it was listed as "pre-owned" when they can buy it brand new at most drug stores or Walmart (if they want the hassle) for well under $10?

That's my rant of the day. I hope yours is a good day without hassles and enjoyable whether you are working or playing.
