Good afternoon people.
It is 83° with humidity at 65% and rain is likely. We are expecting some moisture from the tropical storm but the largest portion is to remain east of us.
Gas has finally "plunged" to $3.25.
My wife got a new fan for the dining area and I just installed it. (Yes, I climbed a ladder and did it myself). I am glad I could do it because I am really feeling useless lately.
the lawyers are telling the residents that a family of 5 could get as much as $195,000 in the settlement with NS over the derailment. More than likely the lawyers will get the biggest chunk of that and the people will get $1.95. I told my son that lives in town not to buy a new Tesla.
Nothing else today

Greetings, gang.
Very dark and 54 outside my window this morning. Supposed to get to the low 70s after the sun comes up.
Yesterday was pretty quiet. Went for a CT scan as a former smoker and all is good. No indication of lung cancer. This morning I woke up at 3:30 an couldn't get back to sleep so here I am perusing the internetiing. Running in to a minor problem I need to have some minor surgery which require me to be put under. I need a driver but so far two of my possibles have scheduling conflicts. Hopefully I can find someone. Otherwise I'll have to postpone the surgery.
Gas here was $3.14 when I was out and about yesterday.
All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Sun and 70s for the day. Finally getting some dry ones.
My wife had knee replacement surgery on Wednesday, but they did not send her home. I spoke to her this morning and she was not sure about today either. Her right knee was replaced 10 years ago and I was hoping this one would go easier, but no. Lowest gas price I saw was $3.39, most are around $3.59.

It is a beautiful day here Sun and 81 degrees. Gas varies from 3.499 to 3.599.
I need to do some train work but I can't get fired up for it
I am still working on organizing my photo collection. Trying to clear duplicates and identifying them with their file names so the search engine can locate them easier. The family photos are the hardest because I have 9 generations to identify and the old ones are tough. My grandmother identified a lot of pictures but "uncle Will's sister in law makes it tough but I try to do the best I can. Some one in the future may appreciate my efforts.
Have a nice weekend

Good afternoon folks
It is 81 going up to 83. The heavy rain of 2 inches of more from Debbie has not materialized. We have had some strong winds. There was a confirmed tornado just across the state line in New Castle County Delaware last night that cause some damage. Radar does show something coming our way. Might be here around 4 PM.
I have spent a long day at the Tire Store. I had to get two new tires. They tires had to be ordered and of course they did not come on the morning truck. They did arrive on the afternoon truck and I was finally out of there at 2 PM. The day was not a total lost thanks to being able to work online and I caught up on all my reports and logs.
If all goes well, I hope to talk to Charlie tonight and discuss some DCC questions and issues I have been experiencing. A new 5-amp booster arrived for the layout yesterday and I hope to hook it up over the weekend along with new circuit breakers.
This weekend is supposed to be a good one weatherwise. I will be doing some yard clean up from the strong winds we have been having today. We also need to run to the produce store, PetSmart, and the grocery store. The laundry pile does have a bottom.
I hope to run some trains. I need to work on the Bridges Area aka the Challenge Project. I might build a rolling stock kit or two.
Jim praying that your wife has an easy and uneventful surgery.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Greetings, gang.
Clear skies and pleasant temperatures are the weather plans for the weekend. 51 now going to the upper 70s today and tomorrow. Should be really nice tonight to watch the Perseid meteor shower.
Got my surgery transportation issue resolved and had a nice chat with some friends. Trip to the gym was uneventful. I was in bed by 10 last night and slept til 6 this morning to compensate for the lack of sleep Thursday night.
Had a bit of a surprise yesterday. On the way to the gym the gas price had jumped from $3.14 to $3.54. On the way home it ha dropped back to $3.14. When I was out yesterday afternoon it had dropped another 2 cents to $3.12. Go figure.
All stay safe.

Good aftermorning all.
Tom it sounds like the station may have put diesel fuel prices up for a while until they realized their mistake.
I haven't been anywhere to see gas prices but the temperature is 77 and sunny here this afternoon...
I have to mow the back yard then pop some ears of sweetcorn into the microwave for a treat. I found that cooking it in the husks is the only way to cook it then cut it off at the bottom above the hump and squeeze it out like a push up
I got another heritage locomotive yesterday, another ebay buy and it was in great shape with very professional light weathering.
More later when I get some work done.

Good morning folks
Big change in the weather. It is 61 at the moment and the high will be 80. The entire week is supposed to be like this.
Since the remnants of Debbie went further west of us than predicated, we got some wind and almost no rain meaning the yard clean up was done in about an hour. We did our usual errands of trips to the grocery store and PetSmart. I finally got the last two tires I needed for the car. I even did a small amount oof laundry.
I put away some rolling stock that was on the layout after I ran some trains. I installed the new 5-amp booster for the layout. The new booster solved the problems with the SD40’s. However, one of them is still having issues with two switches. The two troublesome GP9’s are still not running, and I am close to being out of ideas with them.
I need to reattach a chain pull light fixture in the basement that came loose. I thought te light bulb was going until I tried to unscrew the bulb and the whole fixture was suddenly in my hand. Apparently, the screws that held the fixture to the box came loose.
I want to test the SD40’s some more. With all the issues with the locomotives I neglected working on the Bridges Area. I would like to remedy that some.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Like Tompm said. It is cold we have 51° . No rain in the near future. Grass is mowed.
I managed to apply the light color to the passenger car I am going to paint for my KJR train. All that is left are my memories and and a trail.
The check for my passport renewal was cashed 2 weeks ago so if they don't find a problem with the application I should get the new one in a month or so. With the very minor health issues I have right now I doubt I will travel this year. I want to do a trip out west to see the 4014 run and a visit to the Heber Valley Railroad that my friend is Chief mechanical officer.
I wish everyone a good week ahead.

Good evening everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. It was my last weekend for driving for a little bit as I had another ankle surgery on my right foot. I’ve been home since about 3 p.m. We had to be at the surgical center for 1045 a.m and my surgery started about 11:15 and I wasn’t out of surgery until 1:30 p.m. I am sitting here resting and checking out what everyone has posted as I really can’t do anything else.
Take care my friends.

Good morning folks
Another nice day on tap from what they are saying. Currently it is 63 and the high is supposed to be 81.
I spent a good part of the evening going through dental bills and explanations of benefits from our insurance trying to figure why my wife got a surprise bill at her visit yesterday. Since I can’t get the numbers to match the best guess we have is they confused my wife’s bill with my son’s. They were both there on the same day, one in the morning, the other in the afternoon and had similar work done. This isn’t the first time the office messed up my wife’s bill.
I didn’t make it to the basement so nothing got done on the trains. Maybe I can get down there tonight.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning
It is currently 69° and very pleasant.
I finally got the hedges trimmed along the alley that leads to my house. They belong to the neighbor and are in the right of way but the neighbor, nor the township do anything about keeping them trimmed. I had a pick up truck bed full of clippings when I was done. I worked from the bed of my truck to reach the top.
More yardwork today but other than grass cutting that should do it for the year.
Cheers to all
Charlie.

Hello Blue
Sun and 80s today. No rain till Friday. Woodward Dream Cruise is Saturday with some rain in the forecast. The cruise is so well known you can Google it.
Wifes knee replacement has been a week tomorrow. She says it is still painful but can move around some with the walker. Our bedrooms are upstairs, so the big couch has become her friend and bed.

Good morning all, just a short HI, slow week, only four medical appointments.
SJ, have a friend that had a knee replacement back in October and he says it is still swollen and painful. It is one surgery that takes a while to heal, but on the other hand, he is very active which might explain why it is taking him so long.
Still little to no rain, new record of 78 consecutive days at 100+ and heading for a new record of most days 110 or higher.
Have a great day...
