The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Good morning folks

It is 64 alongside the Schuylkill River this morning. The wind has begun kicking up. Good thing they are running the water truck otherwise we would be in a dust storm. High is supposed to be 68. No rain for at least the next 10 days. I can’t remember the last rain we had. It might have been 3 weeks ago.

This weekend got off to a bad start. I had planned to go to Timonium for the train show on Saturday. However, my wife had a severe asthma attack during the night. We were one medication away from a trip to the ER. Luckily that last medication and a shower brought the reaction down. She has been having these attacks for the last two weeks and as of yet we have not identified the source. She did feel well enough Saturday afternoon to go with my daughter to Dalton Farms in Swedesboro, NJ to pick sunflowers. I was able to take a trip to Trains, Toys, and Models in Claymont, DE. On the way back I stopped at the grocery store. Sunday, we lounged around the house. I did some laundry.

My trip to hobby shop saw me come home with three Walthers Mainline X29 boxcars and a 3-dome tanker. I spied a couple items I want to get next trip. I did not get a chance to run any trains. However, I went on a kit building spree. I built 11 kits and repaired/upgraded 2 cars over the weekend.

The wife has a dentist appointment this afternoon and tonight is Senior Night for the varsity volleyball. My daughter’s team, the freshman are helping to run the festivities. This makes what to do for dinner an issue since it will most likely be just me eating at the normal time.

Tonight will be laundry and maybe some more kits or some train running.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning

Side effects with drugs can be over the top. I just went on some drugs for arthurites and had to stop all of them. Now I am restarting them one at a time to see which drug is causing  which side effect.  I never was much for taking drugs so they do work on me rapidly.. I have been taking HTCL for blood pressure for ten years with no problems.  Sometimes these drugs are ok until they are mixed.

I am proceeding to lay down the static grass and I am pleased with the results. I need to get some long tan colored to represent the grass that grows in fields around here. I have also been working on the model of the Kiski flat car that we had installed seats and tables on.

I hope everyone gets and stays healthy.

I pick up my new Ford Maverick tomorrow. The dealer had to travel 300 miles one way to find what I wanted. Even at that it has more bells and whistles than I wanted so I will probably buy an extended warranty that covers everything for at least 10 years. Repairing some of these gimmicks is really expensive.

Hi all. well Monday is upon us again. the temp is a bit lower says its 84 now with a low of 69 called for high in low 90's tomorrow. modeling is slow as hands are still a bit of a problem (tend to drop things) but I forge on just at a slower rate.
stay safe and warm Jim.

Gee Jim, they're not as accommodating here as they are there. We hit another 100+ day yesterday, that's been everyday in October. Maybe a lot better by Friday, temps in the high 70's, good chance of rain.

I too am forging ahead in spite of other issues that slow me down. Still, any progress is better than just doing nothing.

Greetings, gang.

Clear and 25 degrees this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. Supposed to get to the low 60s with 25 mph winds.

Quiet day yesterday. Decent swim but it seems like as soon as I hit the half mile mark my knee starts to act up. More drug fueled dreams last night. I was visiting my granddaughter and her family. They had switched from telephone company provided internet to fiber and we were discussing a phone line booster that I had installed at one time (Why? - I have no idea). Then I needed to take a shower in their basement. While I was getting ready the dryer started and told me that a repair technician from Ace Hardware would be stopping by to begin removing the dryer. Then while I was taking the shower some guy showed up and I'm hot sure just what he was doing. Yeah, drug dreams are definitely entertaining.

All stay safe.

Good morning all, well, the weather gal on TV says that we are in for a cooling trend. Yup, she was right, it only hit 99 yesterday. They say we've been running a good 10 degrees over normal for some time now, and by Friday, we're suppose to be 10 degrees below normal. We just can't win.... We go from ultra high electric bills from running A/C, to ultra high gas bills from running the furnace and heating up the shower water. Yes, in the summer, the cold water is warm enough to take a "cold" shower. I have the hot water heater set at it's lowest and it's still too hot to shower with.

Yeah Tom, our doctor's fixation with drugs now days can cause all sorts of issues, one that the doctor just prescribed has the same side affect as what I'm suppose to be taking it for. It has a total of, 51 "common" side affects, and 62 "less common" side affects. One common one affects your judgement, and to be frank, I'm going to change doctors, and that's good judgement Icon_rolleyes .

I hope everyone has a great day today, I'm going to try my best. So far I've got about 400 feet of chain link fence finished. Today I'm going to try to do the last section and a set of gates. Then I have no choice but to start prepping the ground and finish off some ballasting.

Greetings, gang.

A little warmer this morning at 41. Supposed to get to the low 70s but with very low (for here) humidity (around 20%) and winds near 40 mph it will not be all that pleasant. A red flag warning has already been posted for today and tomorrow with similar conditions expected.

With all the high wind due today yesterday's work will be negated. I got a batch of leaves cleaned up but they will soon be replaced. This morning I need to haul off yesterday's leaves and make a grocery run. A minor drug induced dream about the place I used to work but another interesting side effect is that I've lost about 7 pounds since I started taking the Prednisone.

Gas was $2.83 when I was out and about yesterday.

All stay safe.

Took my 7 year old to a train show last weekend.  He wanted N scale stuff - we found him a locomotive and 3 cars for pretty cheap.

I found a Mantua Pacific and a Mantua GP20 for $5 each.

The Pacific runs, the GP20 has all its parts, but the plastic wheels are cracked.  Will need to purchase some new wheels from NWSL and I should have a good runner.

That's great that he wants to get into the hobby! Best of luck with getting everything running  Smile  Smile  Smile

Greetings, gang,

Hazy and 49 outside my window this morning. Supposed to get to te mid 70s for the next few days then back to more normal 60s next week. Still no sign of rain.

Very windy yesterday as predicted and today looks to be the same. I'm not gonna bother raking for a few days. Nothing really major on the agenda for today. I did try to see the comet last night but I was in the wrong place. Gonna try the other side of town tonight.

Gas dropped a whole penny yesterday to $2.82.

All stay safe.

Good afternoon folks

It is 62 on its way to 68. This weekend is supposed to be warm with the high approaching 80. We have not seen any measurable rain in 19 days. Everything is drying out and the ground is rock hard. My grass is quickly changing color to brown. The ten-day forecast calls for no rain. If that happens we will tie the record for days without rain in Philadelphia of 29 straight days.

The past few days have been uneventful. A trip to the grocery store, the pharmacy, and PetSmart. Some laundry done. I have been working on six Bowser Lehigh & New England 70-ton covered hoppers that I got from the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society. The kits are not difficult but do take some patience. I am hoping to finish all six by tonight. I am glutton for punishment as I got another 11 LNE kits off of eBay that Bowser made a few years back.

Not sure what I will be doing this weekend. There is some laundry to contend with. Probably have to make the usual errands. With the temperatures being up probably will take care of few outside items.

I will continue working on kits. May or may not be the next set of LNE covered hoppers. I have many more to select from. I hope to run some trains also.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Greetings, gang.

The nice weather continues in the remote reaches of northern Iowa, fortunately without the high winds today. 80 for a high with only 10-15 mph winds. More fall like weather isn't scheduled until the middle of next week.

I found 3 different excuses to ride the moped yesterday so it was a good day in spite of the winds. Also ran into a long time friend while shopping in Walmart and had a nice chat with her. Last evening I went out in the country to see if I could find the comet but no luck, clouds to the west.

Nothing major on tap for today. Laundry this morning, college football at 11, and maybe some leaf gathering after the game. The medications the doctor put me on last week certainly did not have the common side effects that were listed. My appetite stayed the same in stead of increasing. I did have some minor difficulty sleeping, particularly one night but no major disruptions. And instead of gaining weight I lost almost 10 lbs. More, please! Of course the weight loss occurred just as I ordered two new pairs of jeans.

Gas was down to $2.75 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Fog early has turned to sunshine. Hi of 71 for the day.
My attempts to see the Northern Lights failed this year. Too much city lite I guess. BUT I did get to see the fireball yesterday evening.
My plans for the day. Cartoons and coffee are done, now I wait for football. No breaking news from the guys at York. I don't go anymore, it's too tiring for this old guy.

Greetings, gang.

Yet another in a string of warm, dry, and sunny weather. 57 currently going to the low 80s this afternoon. Cool down starts Wed.

I watched the first half of a college game yesterday in which my team eventually took a severe beatdown. Lost 56-7. At half time I went outside and cleaned up leaves. I skimmed through the second half later on. Today I need to pack for a brief trip. I'll be back either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Gas dropped again. Down to $2.74 yesterday.

All stay safe.

Good morning.

It is my wife's monthly lunch party day. My BIL and SIL as well s my daughter and grand daughter will attend. We have a good time and the food is good,

I was having some problems with edema for several years now, going through the compression socks and all of that. I was also drinking a lot of Crystal Lite to keep the calories down.  I was having some stomach aches and quit the Crystal Lite. My legs are almost normal so no more diet drinks for me.  Pure water.

I traded in our Kia soul that only had 32000 miles on it and got a new Ford Maverick truck. This will be primarily my wife's ride, I have my own F150 (2010) and it only has 78000 miles on it. The Kia dealer we bought from sold out and the new guy thought an oil change should be 130 dollars and I really wanted to be back in a Ford again.

No work on the trains for a couple days. probably tonight. Have a grand week everyone.
