The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #X.. Stop In!!!
Good morning folks

It is 44 and misting at the moment. It was raining most of the morning. High is supposed to be 46.

Friday, I had to deal with a slow leak in one of the front tires of my car. I ad to put air it several times during the day to make it through work and the trip home. At home we put up some more Christmas decorations. For some reason we are running late this year. I built a couple of Accurail Pacific Electric wood boxcars.

Saturday, my wife and daughter went Christmas shopping. I ran some errands to the pharmacy and Kohl’s to drop off some returns. I did not get them all done as my wife accidently printed out the wrong codes for a couple of them. We put up some more decorations. I worked on adding renumbering decals to four Accurail wood boxcars. The decals were giving me trouble with melting into the board lines. I had to reapply the setting solution numerous times. One car was so bad I had to remove the decals I had put on.

Sunday, I dropped the car off at Pep Boys to get the tire fixed. The appointment was for noon, but the car was the last one finished at 6:30 PM. We took the dog to PetSmart to get pictures with Santa. After I picked up the car I made a grocery store run. I continued working on the decals. Two cars are done. They are not perfect, but I can lie with them and hopefully cover up any imperfections with weathering. The other two cars I need to do the other side of the cars.

This morning I get in the car to find the tire pressure dropped 12 pounds overnight. I had to add air just a half an hour ago since the pressure fell to 16 pounds. We are back up at 35. We will see how long it lasts. I already called Pep Boys and they know I am coming in this afternoon. Depending on how the tire drama goes will determine what I get done this evening.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Happy First Flight Day, gang.

26 going to maybe the ;ow 30s today with a chance of some light snow overnight.

On this day in 1903 the Wright Brothers made their historic first flight. More locally I had yet another basketball game for one of the great-grandkids last night. One more tonight and that should be it until the new year. Also a Christmas program for another of the great-grandkids tomorrow night. Today I need to do some shopping for groceries and other things. Otherwise a quiet day ahead.

All stay safe.

There is a bit of a mess in downtown Toronto this week. Someone drove a garbage truck with something up through the streetcar overhead a King and Spadina. This is one of three full grand unions on the system, so the most complicated bit of work on the system. And it is in the process of conversion from pole to pantograph collection. The estimate is closure of the intersection until Friday.
Spadina is an important north-south street and one of the interchanges with the expressway. King is a major east-west and the first one north of the railway lines. There is already a collection of streetcar re-routings due to construction.

Greetings, gang

Warming up after an overnight low of about 18. Currently 24 headed for maybe 28 if the NWS allows us to get that warm.

Quiet day yesterday. Then basketball and dinner with family. Lots of fun and elder abuse. All the grandkids and great-grandkids accused me of either being a dinosaur or a dinosaur rider. The drive home was a little different. The road I took used to be a very busy US Hwy 20. Due to other construction it has become a little used county road with no immediate attention from highway crews. The snow started while we were in the restaurant. On the way home the only way I could distinguish the road from the shoulder was by slight difference in texture. Mostly drove at about 40-45 mph and slower on the curves.

Tonight I have to travel part of that same road for a Christmas program for one of the great-grandkids who just turned 6. Always lots of fun to watch the little ones.

One station is holding out for $2.99 but all the other stations are holding steady at around $2.60.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue.
Tiss snowy and 31 degrees in SE lower Michigan this morning. The pavement is clear. A good day to stay indoors. My wife is baking cookies and making a venison meatloaf. I think we have enough groceries to get us past Christmas. I hope so anyway. Gonna be a cold weekend so Jimmy might not go anywhere till next week.
No special train news.

Good afternoon folks

It is currently 35 going up to 37. We are expecting snow showers later this evening.

Things are a little up in the air this weekend. My car is in the shop and depending on when it gets done may determine what happens this weekend. Tonight, I am hoping to finish the last of the Christmas decorations. Usually, we are done with decorating by the first week of December but this year because of the work we had to have done on the house around Thanksgiving we are running way behind.

Saturday, we have the usual stuff such as errands to the grocery store, pharmacy, PetSmart, and who knows where else. My wife and daughter are going to pamper themselves at the nail salon. While they do that, I may run to the local hobby shop. Sunday is up in the air. Probably be doing whatever did not get done Saturday.

I have a couple of boxcars I renumbered/decaled that I need to seal. There are more Accurail cars to renumber waiting for me. I really need to take a look at the layout and determine the next project. I should finish the station platforms kit. I have more rolling stock kits to build. I also want to run some trains.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Went to get gas and the place I always go was selling at $2.73.
When I got there a guy in a large truck waves me over to his pump.
He said: "I just filled my tank and there's about $5 left for you! Merry Christmas!!"
I thanked him and as he pulled out, I pulled in.
He decided that out of $60.00, he didn't feel like going back in for the change, so he left it for me  2285_

Not bad at all!!  Smile  Smile

Greetings, gang.

11 chilly degrees in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. The NWS is claiming a high in the upper 20s for later on. 30s and 40s for the days ahead. Looks like no white Christmas this year. Not complaining, mind you.

It's been pretty quiet around here this past week. Now that the events for the great-grandkids are over for the year I should have plenty of time to do nothing!

Gas has dropped again. Down to $2.92 yesterday when I was out.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Just checking in. We have bright sun at 7 degrees. Warmer next week.
Not much going on here, we did our grocery shopping last week to avoid the madness.
I watched the Buckeyes win last night. I live in Michigan but was born and raised a Buckeye.
We had some warm freshly baked banana bread yesterday, hmmm that was good.
Our last time out, gas was just below 3 dollars.

Hello friends

I turned over another year on my odometer on Friday. My friend Railcop and I went to the Lou Holtz museum in East Liverpool (my home town)to see the Lionel train display. The building was the former First National Bank that my mom retired from in 1986. It was a memory boost seeing the window she generally worked.  They have quite a display of local sports and military memorabilia. I was quite impressed.  Another friend that has the same first names and birthday is a volunteer for the train upkeep. Now I hope to find a couple O27 cars to redo for some of the old East Liverpool business establishments.

Gas was as low as 2.29 but of course I had a full tank.

Today we gat a couple inches of the white stuff but it wasn't enough to excite me to clear. The sun should do that tomorrow.

Have a good week everyone

Hi Charlie
Looks like we share a birthday, but I won't inquire any further than that.

We are still taking it easy, but went to a concert in the Village today. Harp, flutes, and plucked strings.

I have to go shopping tomorrow as the book I ordered for Dayle has sold out the first printing.

Good morning folks

It is a balmy 9 this morning. Our high will be 26. All the water pipes are frozen in the construction trailers. Tomorrow may be messy with some snow in the morning.

The weekend was semi productive. We got the errands run and did some cleaning in preparation for Christmas. Still have a stray bin or two to put away. The rest of the family did their wrapping, but I have to still do mine. I still need to pick up a couple of gift cards and then I should be done.

I sealed three Accurail wood boxcars. Two of them I renumbered. I ran some trains but I then had a problem with my new Rapido FA1/FB1. The FB unit started slowing down and stalling intermediately. As of yet I have not figured out a cause for the problem. These units are DC. I sent a request to Rapido.

Tonight, I need to do some wrapping and making sure all the decoration bins are stored away. If I have time I will see if I can figure out something with the FB unit. Then perhaps I can run some trains.

I hope everybody has a good day.
