Good evening

While I complain about a lot of things, the post office here gives us great service and we get a lot of packages and most of them come pretty fast. I do wonder why they can't cut back to deliveries on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only because 99 percent of my mail is junk. We even have a post office locally in a town that has a very limited population (124) and all their mail is rural delivery from another larger town, even the post office has a shared zip code. The post office where we had the railroad had post office boxes and mail delivery was from the larger town to the east. The population there was only 72.

I am feeling much better, I even worked on a locomotive last night for a couple hours and got it running very well. I have another one that needs work that I will fix tonight. It is a Walther's Mainline SD70ace and it has a bad clunk n the lead truck. I tried lube but the truck will have to be dis-assembled and the bad gear smoothed or replaced.

We have had 3 days of rain so everything is saturated.

Has anyone else noticed that you can't scroll back through previous posts when writing a reply? I used that feature a lot so I would not miss replying to someone. Relying on my memory doesn't work anymore Wink

Hi all. Charlie I'm jealous we have had one measurable rain in the 14 months. youngest was here for a few days we did some work on the layout he ended up going through my extra cars and took 30 with him but he brought three locos that he said was too expensive to convert to dcc all gp's replaced a bad switch that i couldn't reach and more(getting old and crippled  up is the *****) ran trains the rest of the time.

Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 36 at the moment. Our thinned out NWS is reporting maybe the upper 50s for this afternoon.

Yesterday I froze my tail at soccer. 40 degrees with 30 mph winds made for a miserable day. I did get a hot chocolate and they were $5.25 apiece. Yikes! This morning I watched a very boring F1 race. Next up is dancing from Albuquerque.

All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

Clear and 30 this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. Low to mid 40s today then a gradual warming trend for the remainder of the week.

Yesterday was pretty mellow. Watched a couple of nieces in dance competition. In a group chat with family. Lots of teasing and banter back and forth. Found out that the young ladies like to scroll back through the thread and read the comments. Maybe some shopping this morning and a trip to the gym. With the gradually warming weather the moped could see an appearance soon.

All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.

It was a chilly 19 degrees when I got up this morning. It looks like the sun has some work to do today since the NWS has decreed that it's supposed to be the low 50s today.

Kind of a blah day yesterday. Grocery shopping early then a trip to the gym but I ran out of steam and didn't even finish my half mile swim. Came home and pretty much read and watched YouTube videos for the rest of the day. I'll try the gym again this morning and maybe perform my semiannual season shed switch - putting away the winter toys and getting out the summer toys.

I did see an unusual event a few moments ago. I saw a deer try to eat out of a squirrel feeder. I couldn't get to my camera quick enough though.

Gas was down to $2.96 yesterday and eggs were still $5.49.

All stay safe.

Good morning

Eggs at Walmart here are 4.97 a dozen and a few pennies cheaper if you buy 18. Gas is 2.95.

It is 27° with a high of 35 and clouds predicted..

I spent 4 hours in the kit building room in the train barn yesterday. I was sorting all of my small parts and putting them in order. I think another year or two will get that done.  I have some locomotives I need to paint and I am trying to make a place to work.

I am getting stronger every day and I would say I am about half way to normal. I have lost 22 pounds and I want to lose another 80.

I have a lot of limbs from my neighbors willows that need to be removed but it is too cc=old to think about that.

Wishing everyone a grand day

Yesterday we had the snow tires removed. Later in the day we had a snowstorm. Most of the snow blew straight through and there was hardly any evidence of it today.
Today I had two teeth refilled. (24 and 25).

Clear and 34 at the moment with a guessed at high in the mid to upper 60s.

Yesterday was productive. Got the mower ready for the coming months. Also got the snow blower put away (fingers crossed I won't need it). Then I adjusted the brakes on the road bike and oiled the chain on the secondary bike. Also had a nice chat with the neighbor. This morning will be a trip to the gym and probably a bike ride this afternoon.

All stay safe.

Hello Blue
Gloomy skies, a tad of snow on rooftops and cars. Streets are just wet. 33/39 for the day.
Not much going on here, we live in the Detroit area and it seems like there's a major fire almost every day. Some are businesses. I remember as a lad there was a store that had a fire every few yers, dad always said it was for the insurance. Sure did seem that way.

More snow today, but blowing past us. I'll take the blame for Monday's (I changed off the snow tires) but not today's.

Is anyone in contact with Doctorwayne and CN Nutbar? They haven't been on here for a while.

Good evening.

Another day of sorting small parts and organizing in my little repair room.  I have found parts I will need and didn't know I had.

I got another batch of locomotives to add to the roster. 3 of them are undecorated Stewart ALCo C628s that are undecorated. One will be PRR and the other 2 Lehigh Valley. They are dcc ready.  There is alco a Proto FA2 which I will probably do in PRR too.

I talk to Wayne every other week and he is OK, just computerless.  CN Nutbar usually posts on the tailend Tuesday and side shot Saturday threads.   I see his last visit was 6 hours ago.

We had a dreary day once again so not much was done other than the train room work.

Cloudy and 42 degrees in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. We have been scheduled to get to maybe the mid 50s by this afternoon with little or no wind.

Pretty quiet day yesterday. Only activity was to ride the bike to the grocery store for a loaf of bread. I was all set to go to my Thursday dinner when my daughter called. Seems like she's been hacked. Spent an hour and a half helping her through that and canceled my dinner plans. This morning is a trip to the gym and probably a bike ride this afternoon.

Gas is down to $2.83

All stay safe.
