I'd still be getting my tools out of the box! Chris, is the actual ply base secured to the box structure underneath, to deter any tendency to warp, or are you dropping a facia from the leading edge?

yes I will be putting a facia but that will be last of all, so it will follow any contours
Didn't get chance to do much more yesterday, just finished off the warehouse
Here are some photos of it..
and in its finished place on the layout.
I also sprayed the yard track brown because I didn't like the greeny yellow look.
I've still to add some working flood lights to the warehouse plus all the power lines along both sides of the road and the fun details such a birds and litter but that's this end pretty much finished.

Today I did some work on the feed and seed mill
just to get an idea on how it will all fit together
The building are all Walthers kits
I think they will be removable so they won't get damaged on the way to and from shows

I've also started work on Bobs Services Inc
Unlike the real Bobs Services Inc mine has a building for the guys to work in.
This is just a single spot siding and the ARR crew leave any car the needs repairing outside the shed and when BSI are ready, it is hauled inside.
Should there be more than one car arriving, that requires attention they are left off spot in the yard.
the loop is the other side of the overpass, so if a car is in the yard waiting its turn in BSI, the ARR loco will appear for the fiddle yard, couple up to the car, run back under the bridge. I will swap the car from the front to the rear of the loco and then the train reappears

The warehouse and bridge are foam board. I used a black bic to mark the joints then sprayed it with Rust-oleum textured desert bisque
