While working at Angeles Block made the mistake once of calling them bricks. The boss quickly corrected me that they are cinder blocks NOT bricks. Here's a link to Wikipedia definitions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concrete_masonry_unit Don't remember CMU being used at Angeles Block. Re: Had's McCulloch Chainsaw Shop -- Monster Models Triple J - mountaingoatgreg - 05-09-2015 Thanks everyone!! I have really been having a blast with this project. I am really looking forward to getting the interior finished so I can get the exterior finished up. If things work out the interior may be done as early as next weekend but we will see what life has I order. As far as the Cinder Blocks. The area around Bend is all on volcanic soil. Do a google search for BN Lava siding. One of the customers I am working to model is Central Oregon Pumice. Some of the pumice was shipped to a few different cinder block manufacturers in Oregon and California. One of the plants at Deschutes Oregon had a mine and would make cinder blocks on site. I have not found any evidence of them shipping blocks but they did ship pumice. |
