Once the ground is covered in snow until it warms up and dries up in the spring. I will spend up to four hours a day some days and as little as a few minutes on other days. Some times in the morning some times in the after noon or in the evenings, in other words when ever I feel like doing some thing. In the summer I am to busy to even look at the layout.

Interesting... I probably work on / tinker with my layout as much in the summer as I do in winter -- but again, it's usually in the mid/late evenings when the house is quiet and I have time. Also, I'm more inclined to stay in the air conditioning when it's ultra-hot outside!

Working on the layout is often a challenge in December, partly b/c that time of year is always very busy with work and getting ready for Christmas.

In the winter I have nothing to do most of the time. In the summer I am gone by seven AM and usually don't get home till seven or eight in the evening. By the time I make supper and eat its late And I'm to tired to do anything.

I understand. We all have different schedules & different busy times.

Rob,Speaking of the summer months I railfan and do some fishing until the old mercury noses into the 90s with a heat index then hello modeling under the old A/C.

Yes, I do many more other activities in the summer, many rail-related, such as rail-fanning, occasionally helping at a heritage railway, and frequently helping at a model live steam club. (Also into hiking but I do that year-round.) I love the outdoors.
