Bruce, another commodity that has lost a lot of volume. Newsprint is declining because of the digital age too.
I have posted this before but it is such an example of the early years of Conrail. It was fun to watch as this railroad took shape. I disagree with a lot that was done but I am also saddened that it was allowed to be butchered. 12/11/1976 Conway, Pa

Charlie, the Atlantic City Press stopped rail delivery sometime in the mid 1990's and it delivered by truck.

Bruce, our newspapers were not given a choice, Conrail abandoned the line serving them.

12/19/1976. The light was fading fast and I was still shooting everything I could with the limited film budget. There were still many unpatched locomotives on the roster. Westbound at East Palestine, Ohio.
