Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-06-2014 On the other side of Orange Mill the track turns South again and goes through New Lisbon. Here is an overview shot, the section is 2' wide and 7'long. ![]() First thing you come across is the feed mill and some line shacks. ![]() then the station, in the background you can see the town itself. ![]() 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-06-2014 Here is a little closer shot of the town. ![]() and part of the vehicle repair yard. ![]() and the other half. ![]() as you can see we reached the section I am currently working on. 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-07-2014 I might as well put this one in here too, the Briarbaur house on the layout. ![]() 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-07-2014 The next section I will be working on is an area between the towns of New Lisbon and Mauston. I will hold a small trailer park against the backdrop and an abandoned farm scene. I have all the track in and wired. The cork will be a road and track weathering is started. ![]() 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - Ralph - 12-07-2014 ak-milw Wrote:Here is a little closer shot of the town. I'm enjoying the tour very much! One thing that caught my eye in this pic was the great roof detail on those buildings! ![]() Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-07-2014 Thanks Ralph, I didn't want to over do it but I think I got just enough. 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-16-2014 Track and ties weatherd, the wood road crossing is in and currently working on the trailer park. The two end trailers are a City Classic kit cut in half the other two will be scratchbuilt, one is done. ![]() 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-20-2014 Well I have all the trailers built and in place. Next to ballast the track then the scenery and details to the trailer park scene. ![]() 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-26-2014 Ballasting is creeping along. ![]() 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - mountaingoatgreg - 12-26-2014 Nice little trailer park you have there. good use of space using them as pseudo building flats. Some trees and a driveway and other assorted details will really make this a great place to park for the night. Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-27-2014 Thanks greg, The park is there in real life and I knew I wanted to add it without taking up a lot of space. I think it should look alright after all the details are in. 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-28-2014 The ballast is done up to the road and the scenery has been started. ![]() the toothpick will grow into an oak tree and I will add a few pines as soon as I make them. 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - BR60103 - 12-28-2014 David's rule of ballasting: as soon as you get the track fully ballasted, your wife will decide to move house. Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - ak-milw - 12-28-2014 David, the wife can move anytime she wants to. the house stay's here with me!! 8-) Re: Milwaukee Road in Wisconsin, 1950's - Catt - 12-29-2014 I used to dread ballasting but for some reason I've enjoyed doing the home layout this time around.Funny thing is next April I will be un ballasting as I rebuild to a much smaller layout. This is going to be one crowded room with 3 layouts,1 furnace ,1hot water heater ,a work bench and my computer. ![]() |
