There's a couple of pics of the building in Lance Mindheim's book 'Stucco and Pastels'. He call's it the 'Pink Warehouse'.

There are also several more examples of curved wall warehouses in the book, with interesting paint colors.

Thank you for the kind words. The pink color is starting to grow on me but I would like to add another complementary color possible to the shades over the individual windows. This structure sets just down the street from Domingo Produce.

I have successfully used the "texture" paint as a quick way to simulate stucco. I think that it is technically "oversize", but it looks good to the eye. You can see it on this close-up of Western Shipping:

Andrew,

That is a nice close up photo showing the stucco look. Looks very good. I thought I was using Krylon, but after checking with Home Depot, it is the Rustoleum Textured Paint. It may use smaller textured material, since it is only noticable up close and I can't get that close with my camera. If I go with the pink, I'll airbrush it.

I'm just curious, what do you use to make the brick color variation? Looks interesting.

BTW, the stucco texture is good. At some point, if one would scale down the real texture, it would be too fine to catch light and gives the stucco texture. I often thought about trying these textured spray paint but never dared. I should try it someday.

I would definately try the textured paints. I know the Rustoleum consists of very small texture material. The stone finished Krylon may be slightly larger. I would purchase a can of white Rustoleum or Krylon and shoot a piece of white sheet plastic just to observe the finish. The most you will be out is about $4.00 to 5.00 dollers. I would go with white just because it will be easier to cover with an airbrush color. Its just a matter of what you like.

Work on my curved walled Import/Export business is nearing completion. I am still missing the roof, front door security gate, stand off details, signage for the sidewalls and above the front door. An additional piece of concrete below the front step and light weathering also needs to be completed. Hopefully this will be completed this weekend. I wasn't sure how I would like the pink paint, but it has grown on me and matches the prototype fairly well.

I have also tried working with Mirlon which was used by Lance Mindheim for setting a close or distant tree line. It comes in a 30' roll and can be scored along the backside and then torn by hand. The tore edges fray allowing for a look of thick foliage. This strip is simply sprayed with 3M Super 77 adhesive and then sprinkled with Woodland Scenics Green Turf. Ahead of the Mirlon will be static grass and various types of Heki turf grass or wild grass.

I really like the import/export building, and the distant tree line. It is something I would like to try, but I have to ask what is Mirlon and where do you get it?

Wow. That looks really cool. I'll admit when I read pink I thought, "pink ewww!" However, I'm surprised at how good it really looks.
