amazing wood carver - jim currie - 02-21-2026
was leafing through some 0old model magazine's today and ran across the article on earnest Warther's the detail he put into his locomotive carvings still stuns me , I don't think most of the younger members of the form ever heard of him if you haven't goggle him its worth the time.

We toured the museum 40 years ago. It is only 65 miles from us. His carvings are remarkable. It costs a lot more to viit today than it did 40 years ago. It was one of our weekend motorcycle trips.

I would like to see it myself but it's a 3- or 4-day trip one way for me seeing it in person must be inspiring as just looking at the photos impress be with his attention to detail.

Those intricate wooden locomotive carvings are absolute masterpieces, and the sheer amount of patience and precision required for that level of detail is mind-blowing. Visiting a place like that in person must be such an inspiring experience for anyone who appreciates fine craftsmanship.
