Right Place/Right Time.. - Brakie - 05-05-2009 While on my morning walk "rest" I heard a horn blowing and walk over to the track and saw a white face unit coming slow.I hustled over to the east side of the connector track and took these photos.. Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - upnick - 05-05-2009 Superb Pics Brakie i want one for my roster N scale. Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - doctorwayne - 05-05-2009 Nice catch, Larry! That's a classy-looking business train. It'd look even better with the 611 on the point, though. Wayne Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - Steamtrains - 05-05-2009 Oh mannn...You lucky dog....That's one classy train.... Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - ngauger - 05-05-2009 Yeah - That's a "Great definition" of Right Place / Right time Great Pics!!!! Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - Ralph - 05-05-2009 NICE!!! Timing IS everything! Ralph Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - e-paw - 05-07-2009 I think those are the former Conrail units that they used on there business trains. Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - Charlie B - 05-07-2009 NS got rid of the E8's shortly after the take-over. These are F units they bought several years ago and completely overhauled/rebuilt them. They did the work in Altoona, and when I saw them close up they were in showroom condition. Charlie Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - Charlie B - 05-07-2009 Larry, those are great shots. I'm stuck on a low volume line and have only seen them by us one time. They were parked in Oakmont for a golf tournament a couple of years ago and I got a close look at the whole train. Beautiful work, and beautiful automotive quality paint jobs. I am glad there are still craftsmen in the industry. Charlie Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - Herc Driver - 05-07-2009 Really good looking units. I wish you could buy those passenger cars somewhere...they'd probably be hard to paint that well and match the color right. Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - Charlie B - 05-08-2009 Here are a couple of NS 11, the one is a digital close up so you can see the paint and lettering better. The paint is close to the old fashioned candy apple red. Charlie Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - eightyeightfan1 - 05-08-2009 Nice shot. Good catch. Me...Its seems like its always right place...right time....NO camera! Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - LiveSteamer - 05-08-2009 Great pictures. Larry you sure were in the right place at the right time. Thanks for posting them for us all to see. Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - Bob C - 05-08-2009 E-paw & Charlie; Here's what became of two of those old (PRR original) E-8s - http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=260609&nseq=2&showcomments=true#comments - Beautifully restored to historic form, and in use to be seen and appreciated ! Bob C. Re: Right Place/Right Time.. - railohio - 05-14-2009 Larry caught them headed back to Altoona from the Kentucky Derby. Railroads send their business trains to entertain guests for the weekend. |
