My wife and I have some times surprised to find a tiny shop or restaurant the size of a dog house after 100 miles of intensive advertising at an interstate Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Ralph - 05-14-2012 Love 'em! The Totem Pole is almost as well promoted as Wall Drug! Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Fifer - 05-14-2012 Thanks Reinhard and Ralph , yep always seems to be a tiny place with a huge facia and signs for miles and miles !!! Mike Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Steamtrains - 05-14-2012 Aahhh....Memories... I used to see literally hundreds of those signs while driving down Rt. 66 from Chicago to Oklahoma City back in the mid-60's... Good job..!!! Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Tyson Rayles - 05-14-2012 Nice! Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Fifer - 05-14-2012 Thanks Mike and Gus , yep lots of those signs still around today !!! Mike Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Fifer - 05-25-2012 I have completed 3 structures for the ACTRR. The first two are Downtown Deco Addams Ave 1 and 2 but one was narrowed front to back in half and the other was cut to angled to fit across from the Bus Depot. The Third is the existing Bowling alley (Robins Lakeside Lanes) with the inside milled out to accept the Miller Engineering sign. Now to get them out on the layout permanently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRJke4HHXW0 Mike Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Harry - 05-26-2012 mike, super and fine Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Fifer - 05-26-2012 Harry Wrote:mike, super and fine Thanks Harry , I really ejoy building the Downtown Deco buildings! Since those things always run over or are shot full of holes, it's a good opportunity to add a bit more greenery in that area from runoff. Looks great! Thanks for reminding me. Mike Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Steamtrains - 05-27-2012 Mannn...Wish I could come up with buildings like those....All I manage to do is square boxes with a loading dock.... Do those kits come with the "junk" you've put on them (pipes, A/C, etc...)? Keep up the super good work..!! The pilasters on the end of the triangle building are actually the chimeny's. Mike Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Fifer - 07-22-2012 Here is finally a method I came up with to make N Scale (or HO) yuccas. I will try to do a how to and post it on our site soon. It only requires Tan, white and grey craft paint, woodland yellow grass turf, woodland white flowers and silflor summer tufts and thick ACC. Here are the results on the work bench. Mike Re: ACTRR is being dismantled and re-constructed - Tyson Rayles - 07-25-2012 I have a sudden craving for hamburger! |
