Todd Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - cn nutbar - 09-21-2009 Nice shot Todd---here's another Canadian location photo,St.Thomas Ontario Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - csiguy68 - 09-21-2009 thank you very much Mister Nutbar. your photo is very nice as well. when was it taken and what kind of locomotive is that? locomotive identification is not my strong point. Todd Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - cn nutbar - 09-21-2009 Hi Todd---I wish I had kept better records of my photographs so I'm unsure of the date the photo was taken---I'm guessing maybe Oct.92.I did a little bit of searching and found out #6512 was a SD-50 built 07/84.It is still on the NS roster as re-built SD-40 E #6302.Here's another shot of her in her original number---maybe someone has a shot in her present number Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - cn nutbar - 09-21-2009 Hello --- I couldn't find the 6302,but here's a couple of her sisters taken at Horseshoe Curve during a railfanning trip I took with Doctor Wayne this past June Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - csiguy68 - 09-21-2009 thanks for the information on the locomotives. again very nice pictures. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - bdw9535 - 09-23-2009 NS 66K with the 50 car stone train on the siding at Winslow, NJ July 2009 Bruce Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - LiveSteamer - 09-23-2009 Went to south fork the other day and got these photo's. To my surprise most if not all the SD80MAC's were down there. I took some photo's of the area. Didn't want to get to close that way I didn't get into trouble. I stopped right at the no trespassing sign. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Charlie B - 09-24-2009 Mine 78 in Windber is back in operation. The Mac's are back to work I'm sure. The macs have been in portage since last december. They are always the ones pulling the coal trains out. Never seen a Dash 9 on them trains leaving portage. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Brakie - 09-26-2009 Here's 2 more. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Ralph - 09-26-2009 Every time I see an NS locomotive I'm reminded of railfan criticisms of the Penn Central's "black dipped" scheme. Maybe if they'd added a few white stripes to their units back then they'd have been more popular. Wayne Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Ralph - 09-26-2009 LOL! Yeah, 'fraid so! Ralph |
