I've found that a 1/4 watt 1000ohm resistor helps keep the speed controllable but they are still a bit fast on the upper end of the throttle, your best control being in the lower half. My 0-4-0 has gone from 2-3 cars to pulling over 7 though I've added no weight to the loco itself. Quite frankly, I love the looks my remotored TYCO Chatatnooga Choo Choo gets when running around with the best of them at train shows...wait'll I get a hold of an A-Team set.. .
