A few new projects - foulrift - 12-17-2010

Well once again I have been doing some new projects.
First up is a tank car.Now I have seen a single and triple dome tank car but never a two dome tank car so I took my three dome car
and created one.

Next I wanted to do something a little different with a flat bed truck so I took an extended frame truck that I had and added a truck bed
using a flat bed trailer.I then added a cable reel holder and reels from GCLaser. The kit also came with a flat bed body which I did not realize.

Lastly I took a single axle tractor, extended the frame, added another set of wheels and then the flat bed assembly that came with the reel holder.

Enjoy.

Nice job on the Tank car. She looks like she's seen lots of miles and could use a trip to the paint shop for a fresh coat..

Thanks for the comment. I think the look of the tank car adds some character to it.

The trucks are weathered quite nicely on that tank car Thumbsup . The two dome tank car I am most familiar with is the lionel version. There were prototype two dome tank cars, and even a few narrow gauge ones one D&RGW.

Ralph-thanks.I was real pleased with the way it turned out.
Kevin-thanks-what I did on the trucks was to first paint them rail tie brown and then follow it up with a rust wash.
