Latest addition to the N scale elevator earning it's keep.Model is a 3-D print from Shapeways designed by Stony Smith.The model is a Rail King -275 car mover and just so you know without asking it is a static model.With the couplers it is a whopping 1.125" long.

Catt, I see your using alot of 3D print on your N scale layout ,what are your thoughts about the finishing product. Your critter looks nicely done with fine (read fragile) handrail.

Matt,I think the future is quite bright for 3D printing.The items I have been using (so far) are productss of Stony Smith"s fertile mind.There are more and more comp[anys getting into 3D printing (some of them should not).Stony has about 18 pages of his stuff on the Shapeways site.Here is a link to his pages. http://www.shapeways.com/shops/stonysmith
Stony is not the only one with a Shapeways store selling model railroading items there are quite a few others and the list keeps growing.I have Stony's new extended vision caboose in Z and will be buying more of his Z scale freight cars.
As for working on all the projects I'm into basically I will work on one thing for a while then stop and do something else .Waiting for glue or paint to dry is a great motivator to work on something else.

Catt, that Railking car mover looks really good .... I could use a couple of those on my layout! I've never bought from Shapeways - what material would you recommend for it?

Kev, the FUD (Frosted Extra Detail) is really the best they have now.Though I understand they are looking for a better yet product.I have Shapeways product on both my N and Z layouts all of it so far designed by Stony Smith though I will be getting others products down the line.

Small update,got some much needed work done to the right end of the Grain elevator complex.By the way it is now known as the Gorman Grain Co.Some of the other N scalers here know who Dick Gorman is i am sure.

Some quick details,the elevator is almost 36" long and except for the loading shed is scratchbuilt. The office and garage is a painted and mildly modified Walther's Stateline Farm supply.The warehouse is a Micro-Engineering building.It will either get repainted to match the office or replaced with a Pikestuff building.

Everytime I go to the Shapeways sight I find more stuff I want to get.Shapeways is a great source for items a regular manufacturer could not afford to make due to limited appeal for mass market.

I am getting back into the scenery on the N scale layout.Present project is the corner below the electrical service .The scenery actually goes further to the left than the picture shows but I opted not to show it yet because of the mess right next to it.

Bought a couple second hand buildings for the layout.Here's a in progess pic of the two.Both are DPM buildings.The one on the left is the Corner Turret building minus the turret (it was a mess ,after 3 tries I gave up and left it off).The one on the right is Eric's Emporium it was in decent shape except for the gawd awful paint job and glue smeared windows in the front.Bth stores are now installed in Bel Aire till I decide what to do with them.

This one isn't new it's just been remodeled a little.I think I have owned this building forever
.This is a old Model Power kit from sometime back.The basic building was used for several different places ,this one is/was a police station-jail - bail bondsman.My rebuild will be a lawyers office . I have trimed all the excess sidewalks and driveways from the base and removed all but the center horozontal cross pieces from the first floor windows.Since I took the pic I have touched up the bricks on the second floor.![[Image: fresh-1.jpg]](http://boylerwerx.0catch.com/fresh-1.jpg)
