ZTC chip reset with NCE Powercab - simonmoore - 05-15-2011 Hi guys, I fitted a ZTC decoder to a athearn gp50 but the thing is the decoder was already fitted in another model. The model i purchased second hand & i dont know what the decoder address was. Someone told me i could place the loco on the program track & it could be reset but i dont know the address of the decoder or how to reset the decoder to factory settings. It runs on DC without any trouble but it will not run on DCC. Can anyone help please? Simon Re: ZTC chip reset with NCE Powercab - Charlie B - 05-15-2011 When you place it on a program track you don't have to know the address. On the program track it is universal. Re: ZTC chip reset with NCE Powercab - Steamtrains - 05-15-2011 Charlie is right....Anything on a programming track will get programmed. To reset, place on program track and write a value of 8 to CV8. That should erase everything. Now you can program its address, and whatever other CV's you normally mess with. Re: ZTC chip reset with NCE Powercab - simonmoore - 05-16-2011 Thanks guys, i shall try it out later. Simon. |
