RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 10-26-2022 Goody goody, an SD45. October, 1976 East Palestine, Ohio Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - TMo - 10-26-2022 ...and an SDP45 right behind it! RE: Trains on this day in the past: - cn nutbar - 10-27-2022 10/28/2018---Aldershot RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 10-27-2022 Under the Neeld Road Bridge, just west of East Palestine, Oh. 10/27/2019 Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - cn nutbar - 10-28-2022 10/28/2021---CN Stuart yard RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 10-28-2022 Eastbound at MP 49 on the Fort Wayne line near East Palestine, Ohio Late October, 1977 Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 10-29-2022 Westbound at New Waterford, Ohio 10/29/2015 Milepost 55. Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 10-30-2022 10/30/1977. Eastbound manifest crossing Aley Hill Road, about a mile west of Homewood Junction. Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 10-31-2022 The Youngstown Sheet and Tube supplies the backdrop for this ALCo RS3 in Brier Hill, 10/31/1976 Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - TMo - 10-31-2022 Now that is beautiful track in tip top condition! Check out the bows in that track.... Makes me think my tracklaying is very much prototypical (or better)! RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 11-01-2022 Westbound near the Neeld Road Bridge west of East Palestine, Ohio November, 1977 Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - TMo - 11-01-2022 A rare duck indeed! I believe that's a C430 in the lead and maybe another (PC unit maybe?) behind it. At one time I believe Conrail had every C430 ever produced on its roster and would have had more if the Lehigh Valley had gone ahead and purchase their units before AlCO folded up. I've been eying up one of the Bowser units (used on ebay) but haven't pulled the trigger. Bowser also went ahead and built some of those LV units even though they only ever existed on paper. Figure my "Rainbows in the Gorge" could probably incorporate a small change in history and welcome one into the locomotive fold. Todd, that is a C630 Charlie RE: Trains on this day in the past: - TMo - 11-01-2022 Ah well. One can dream. RE: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 11-02-2022 I offer a slide given to me by a fellow I met in 1978. George H Mailander from Net Cong New Jersey. George was our tour guide and host for several days in April of that year and I went home with many slides he gave to me. I regret he passed away before I got to know him better. He was generous to a fault The photo was taken Nov. 2, 1976. Charlie |
