Now that is beautiful track in tip top condition! Check out the bows in that track.... Makes me think my tracklaying is very much prototypical (or better)!

A rare duck indeed! I believe that's a C430 in the lead and maybe another (PC unit maybe?) behind it. At one time I believe Conrail had every C430 ever produced on its roster and would have had more if the Lehigh Valley had gone ahead and purchase their units before AlCO folded up. I've been eying up one of the Bowser units (used on ebay) but haven't pulled the trigger. Bowser also went ahead and built some of those LV units even though they only ever existed on paper. Figure my "Rainbows in the Gorge" could probably incorporate a small change in history and welcome one into the locomotive fold.

I offer a slide given to me by a fellow I met in 1978. George H Mailander from Net Cong New Jersey. George was our tour guide and host for several days in April of that year and I went home with many slides he gave to me. I regret he passed away before I got to know him better. He was generous to a fault  The photo was taken Nov. 2, 1976.     Charlie
