It's really a shame that it's no longer running: a really good-looking locomotive and running in such a beautiful spot, too.

Yes Wayne, it is sad, but even though he has been offered help from a guy that works on steam locomotives he just is too stubborn to get it repaired. He thinks he is too old.

Early morning in East Palestine on a sunny July morning in 1979.The train is waiting to be recrewed. (At this time the short term crews were called "dog catchers".
East Palestine is less than 30 miles from Conway by rail.     Charlie

2 years ago. The benefits of being under a bridge in a thunderstorm are illustrated by this pictures of the helpers on this westbound coal train. I think there is a lot of nostalgia with trains in the rain.

Winchester and Western GP9 475 heads up the Bridgeton to Millville transfer run, seen here at Vineland, NJ July 27, 2010.

Then about thirty minutes later this happens.

For some strange reason this one shocks me more than most of my pictures. I was with my friend Kevin and we got this coal train coming through Sebring, Ohio. I can't believe it was 3 years ago.     Charlie
