Re: Trains on this day in the past: - e-paw - 03-10-2014 Bergen cut EX Erie / DL&W, now NJT / NS-CSX. 3/10/13....We were working near by for three or four days so I spent all my lunch breaks standing next to a highway in Jersey City, camera in hand waiting for a train, None ever showed up. So I took a shot any way just so I didn't feel like I wasted my time. Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Ralph - 03-10-2014 That's a great shot! Two levels of track, a bridge and a tunnel...looks like a model railroad. Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Green_Elite_Cab - 03-11-2014 March 11, 2011 A brief, blurry, dark video of WPCA-20, the local to Hainesport on the Pemberton Industrial track. This is the local train through my town. Its not a great video, but I haven't seen a lot of CSX on the line lately. Its been mostly NS engines, even though its still a Conrail Shared Assets Operation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKEWn7X2luo Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 03-11-2014 March 11, 1978 Westbound at East Palestine. Charlie Re: Trains on this day in the past: - bdw9535 - 03-11-2014 Charlie, I do enjoy seeing your photos A pair of ex Conrail locos at Vineland, NJ 3/11/11 Bruce Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 03-12-2014 Thanks Bruce, I enjoy sharing them. Here is an eastbound at Wellsville, Ohio on this day in 1978 Charlie Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Green_Elite_Cab - 03-12-2014 bdw9535 Wrote:Charlie, ooks like it was cloudy across New Jersey on March 11! Charlie B Wrote:Thanks Bruce, I enjoy sharing them. Cool U36C. that black CR patch might have been a pain if Mount Vernon Shops didn't release a black Conrail patch decal sheet. I need to order a couple of their decal sets! Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Green_Elite_Cab - 03-12-2014 March 12, 2012, SEPTA's 13th Street subway surface trolley station in center city Philadelphia. This is the "inner most" station, on the end of a loop. The trolleys all funnel into this station and then branch outwards towards the different routes. It was actually hard to get a good shot on this day, for whatever reason. This was for a trip to University of Pennsylvania to see their Flow Cytometery machines. Cell samples are treated with special flourescent dyes, and the cells are rapidly flowed one at a time past a laser, which can determine the size, shape of every individual cell, as well as detect varying levels of the dyes that attach to specific features of the cells. This allows the machine to accurately characterize every cell in a sample, rather than forcing someone to make a guess from a few cells visible in a microscope slide. A fun trip over all, and a great excuse to ride the trolleys! Charlie Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 03-19-2014 Another conrail C30-7 handles Eastbound TV 62 through East Palestine, Ohio, just a few minutes past noon on March 19, 1978 Charlie Re: Trains on this day in the past: - ngauger - 03-19-2014 bdw9535 Wrote:One of SMS Railroad Baldwin's at Bridgeport, NJ March 13, 2009that was built right across the street from where I live Re: Trains on this day in the past: - Charlie B - 03-20-2014 37 years ago on a trip to McDonald Ohio I found the Youngstown and Northern. Here is a picture of one of their cabins Charlie Re: Trains on this day in the past: - jwb - 03-20-2014 Wow, what's that building in the background? And come to think of it, I guess you could slice-and-dice an Athearn bay window caboose into an ex-B&LE car like that one. |
