Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - Charlie B - 08-24-2014 A late start this week. Here is a view of the engine facility with a local working the siding on the Horn Switch Charlie Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - doctorwayne - 08-24-2014 After a lengthy delay, the EG&E has finally started work on the Grand Valley's northern extension. Here's the future site of the northend staging yard, directly above the original south staging. There are a couple of industrial staging tracks partially visible below that, and the TH&B interchange at the lowest level. The latter is being expanded from one track to two, which involved some modifications to the support structure for the tracks above: Across the aisle, the framing is in place for what will eventually be the Mount Forest locomotive servicing area, along with some industry: Here's an overview of the area, with the underslung lights on: This area will be done next: Tracklaying is some ways off, but when it begins, I'll start a new thread in the Layouts section. Wayne Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - Charlie B - 08-24-2014 Wayne, the lights look great. I am looking forward to your progress posts. You are giving me some ideas. Charlie Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - cn nutbar - 08-24-2014 Excellent results there Doctor Wayne---glad you had a helping hand while I was busy with my shingling project.I've been playing in my train room as well---a long way to go yet but making some progress Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - Charlie B - 08-24-2014 That is looking great Ed. I am glad to see you are so involved in it. Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - doctorwayne - 08-24-2014 Lookin' good. Wayne Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - modelsof1900 - 08-25-2014 Progress on my SP A-6. A few changes on wheel guidance were made. A quite ordinary thing at tender trucks ... ... however a very good result on drivers! Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - faraway - 08-25-2014 Under the highway going back on the main track ps. Playing all weekend with my two sound Bachmann engines has a negative influence..... just ordered two Tsunami and speakers from Trainworld for my Athearn CR GP15-1. Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - Charlie B - 08-25-2014 While we are having a great time here, maybe the wayback machine would help newer members understand why and what "Big Blue" is about. viewtopic.php?f=61&t=3802&hilit=december+2008&start=75 Thanks again Mikey and Don Charlie Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - nachoman - 08-25-2014 wow, some major layout work going on these days! Wayne - are you going to have to add a second set of power feeders with the longer main line? Nutbar - great work there! And Charlie - I never get tired of seeing your layout. For such a large empire, you are making both quality and fast progress. I like how it looks when you take a photo that highlights the size and I can see trains waaaay in the distance, and no bare benchwork! Charlie Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - faraway - 08-26-2014 The third and last (GP7, RS3 and now S4) Bachmann value sound test engine arrived. I think Bachmann did an outstanding job a. redesigning the new drives to get a smooth and silent ride b. getting a fine DCC motor control from SoundTraxx c. negotiating a limited/customized Tsunami sound decoder with all basics required for sound fun d. asking for a very competitive price for the package Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - kamerad47 - 08-26-2014 Reinhard , they don't need no more bait on the line !!!! They got you Hooked!!!!! Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - Charlie B - 08-26-2014 Reinhard, thanks for the review on the Bachmann ALCO's. I am very partial to ALCO's and you hae convinced me I need to add some to my roster. Charlie Re: Weekly Photo Fun 8/23/2014-8/29/2014 - nachoman - 08-26-2014 Stopping for water before heading back up the hill to Joy's Camp. |
