This weekends progress on the ACTRR - Fifer - 02-08-2009

Here is what I have done this weekend plus a lot of work on the web site.
I got the oil rig mounted and the small horse head and fence installed.
I also mounted one of the sheds in at Valle Rojo.

I really like the rig, the colors are good on it. That shed looks great, looks like it has seen a lot of life. I also like your background wall, very nice paint job, the clouds and sky look great and the mountain blends into the scene well.

Thanks Jesso , The sky board has remained the same through 3 scales and 4 layouts with only touch-ups.

Mike, you do fabulous work sir. Proving you can get detail in N Scale.

You are making this N Scale layout better than alot of the HO scale layouts I have seen...

Thanks Will and Tetters , I also had to re-adjust the levels in my helix since I added a stack train. It was too tall and fortunately I used threaded rod for the supports , so was able to raise each level with minimal earthquake damage to the scenery. All cars now clear and damage repaired.

Mike...I see you're up to your ol' tricks.....Those 2 scenes are just fantastic....!!!!
I wasn't sure if that "mountain" was on the layout, or backdrop...It blends right in...(like the rest of your backdrop..)
How 'bout a tour of your layout (I've seen the video) for the newbies here..?? It's worth "showing off".

Here are a couple of projects I have been doing this weekend. They are Yesteryear Creations Sawbust Burner Kit # 02 and the Fire Lookout Tower Kit # 05.
I need to wash them off and get painting.
These are straight forward but are tedious kits and well engineered and fit is really good.

The penny showing the relative size of the models makes me awe struck that one can assemble the delicate support structure for the fire tower, etc. Fantastic! never saw a sawdust burner until taking the Empire Builder to Portland. There's a town just before Glacier Park that has one that is visible from the train. Very interesting structure!

Wow that looks like a lotta brass. The sawdust burner is going to look great all rusted up.
