Building boilers - e-paw - 10-18-2015 Stumbled on this video by accident. It's from a clinic on using styrene plastic to build boilers from scratch. The author uses a similar method to what I use , except I normally use brass to do the same job. He does show a few useful tips and ideas here on working with styrene, it's worth a watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc09wVvuB_I Re: Building boilers - modelsof1900 - 10-18-2015 Great how-to-do instruction video. Thanks for sharing! Re: Building boilers - JaBear - 10-18-2015 I have taken the liberty to link to RDGCaseys build threads from the Model Railroader forum for those who may be interested. http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/p/239829/ ... px#2676571 http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/241195.aspx?page=1 http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/p/247148/ ... px#2764684 http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/p/248717/ ... px#2786902 Cheers, the Bear. Re: Building boilers - modelsof1900 - 10-19-2015 Bear, thanks for this addition. Nice to read again about the progress how you built your fine camels and to see them running in your videos. I love such innovative work of construction of new engine models - however I'm sure that I never wil build an own loco. So much the more I appreciate your work! No No, my apologies if I gave the wrong impression, but those links are NOT to MY work, I only wish they were. Cheers, the Bear. Re: Building boilers - Green_Elite_Cab - 10-20-2015 One day I'll have to try this just for fun. Personally, I'd love a Reading Company G3 Pacific. It helps that they were run on the PRSL, which means they'd look good under both Reading and PRR catenary. Gonna have to do a ton of research first though. I wonder if there are any plans for these out there. |
