Heavy weathered loco roofs - faraway - 10-21-2016 I tried to get some heavy weathered loco roofs. The prototype has a real crust of dirt collected over time. Specially the harvest gold loco looked like a toy from the eagles view. The paint is a diluted mix of brown and black. A butt brush was used applying the paint with dab motions. Re: Heavy weathered loco roofs - railbuilderdhd - 10-21-2016 That looks good. I like old rusty looking weathering. Dave Re: Heavy weathered loco roofs - modelsof1900 - 10-21-2016 Reinhard, a very good and realistic addition. The Canon IXUS with an optical zoom would have produced a much better photo. Re: Heavy weathered loco roofs - Ralph - 10-21-2016 Very realistic looking! Re: Heavy weathered loco roofs - Charlie B - 10-21-2016 Remember, where there is a lot of walking on the walkways the high spots will show silver metal, that would be the walkways on the cab door sides. The nose stairs get more walking as a rule then the rear steps, and the rear step on the engineer side has a little more wear too. Charlie |
