Ralph Re: upnick's engine roster - eightyeightfan1 - 03-11-2009 Nice. Getting mine together. Couple more days. Re: upnick's engine roster - Herc Driver - 03-11-2009 That's a good number and interesting mix of power. That GG1 look great. I like that SP/UP patch unit too. (My world would be complete if only someone would make a high hood GP30 in Nscale.) Re: upnick's engine roster - tomustang - 03-11-2009 Nice collection Your span is broad all you need is some Conrails and CSX's Re: upnick's engine roster - LiveSteamer - 03-11-2009 Some nice locomotives you have there. I like the GG-1. I too have one. Will post a picture of it under my thread when I find the picture of it. Re: upnick's engine roster - Trucklover - 03-11-2009 Cool Nick!! The trucks on the UP Dash 9 cleaned up real good that was something i had planned to re-do but never got around to it before i sold it to you LOL Re: upnick's engine roster - upnick - 03-12-2009 Hi all, Many thanks for your comments ....... next time you see the locos hopefully they will be working for a living on the layout Josh ........ the Dash 9 truck sides were removed and sprayed with fairy powerspray placed in a plastic bag and sealed, came home from work and washed them under the tap like new now the powerspray works great and doesnt damage the plastic. Tom on the look out for Conrail/ CSX units Re: upnick's engine roster - Trucklover - 03-12-2009 Cool Nick!! Ive never heard of that stuff but man it worked great!! Does it work on paint stripping too? Re: upnick's engine roster - upnick - 03-12-2009 Trucklover Wrote:Cool Nick!! Ive never heard of that stuff but man it worked great!! Does it work on paint stripping too? Hi Josh, Yeah the fairy powerspray work on stripping paint and it isnt caustic lke modelstrip, the method is to place the item to be stripped in a plastic bag spray well all over into the bag and tie it up, leave it overnight and the foamy spray should be like a gel on the model, undo the bag and over the sink use an old toothbrush all over the body the paint should fall away .... once you have gone over all the body rinse it under water and viola should be ready for the paintshop sometimes another application is needed ....... a toothpick gently will move stubborn bits of paint. It is sold for cleaning pans with hard to remove crud on them ...... Fairy is the name for washing up liquid over here fairy powerspray being one of its products. http://www.fairydish.com/products/powerspray.aspx Re: upnick's engine roster - Trucklover - 03-12-2009 AWESOME, thanks Nick, ill have to keep an eye out for that stuff, i havnt needed to strip anything yet, but im sure i will one of these days Re: upnick's engine roster - upnick - 03-12-2009 Trucklover Wrote:AWESOME, thanks Nick, ill have to keep an eye out for that stuff, i havnt needed to strip anything yet, but im sure i will one of these days Hi Josh, I wrote to the company that makes it to ask of a stockist there for you ....... let you know what they say |
