flapper cover for diesel exhausts

That one looks like the rain cap for a nose mounted transport refrigeration unit. Most diesel trucks don't use rain caps for their exhaust because the exhaust goes down out of the engine and under the back of the cab before going back up to where it exhausts into the atmosphere. The "U" bend under the cab works like the trap under your sink to keep rain water from getting back into the engine.

I don't know if anyone makes those. If you installed one on a trailer refrigeration unit, would it be in the open or closed position? It would always be closed if the reefer was not running, but would open anytime the unit was running.
