Out of curiosity wonder how these would look as a Hopper cars..

Maybe as some kind of custom built ballast cars: Here's the closest thing to that I have seen as a prototype:

I know this is made as an old-time type car, but I think it could work in modern times if you cobbled something together with a flat car and one of those portable hoppers.

better do it quickly, I'll bet Walthers is already developing the molds to manufacture these.
