Alco S-2 3003 in fresh paint in New Castle, Pa. This project took over a year. The body on this locomotive was in sad shape. Some members of the Beaver Valley Junction Historical Society worked every Saturday and Sunday to get it back in shape. The unit belonged to ISSR which later became NCIR (New Castle Industrial Railroad) Sadly it did not withstand the mechanics that worked on it and it met the scrappers torch.

Two from this day in the past that illustrate what good volunteers can do for a railroad. The top one is from 10/5/1996 and the lower one from 10/5/2001     I'll never forget these folks.

On October 6, 1997 we went to Brier Hill yard in Youngstown, Ohio to look at a coach. The pictures below show what the KJR volunteers could do with before and after shots. The seats are the same in both pictures including most of the covers. I think we had to redo 5 seat backs.
