The old MDC Roundhouse 40' gons are also good for recycling. The C&O had a large fleet of this high side gons with arched ends and, after the Pere Marquette become a part of the C&O in 1947 a lot of 40' steel gons with flat ends. MDC Roundhouse has produced both versions, the prototype with the arched ends only with C&O lettering and the gondola with flat ends for a lot more roadnames except C&O. The flat end gondola I have numbered for the ex PM gons, begins with road number #217650.
So, I have recognized that I make the same thing like the real railroad: buying old rolling stock from other roads for refurbishment for years of succesfull operation.
