Last night I had a few minutes to spare, so I removed the backscene behind the scrap yard and measured up the "phase 2" extension to the right hand end of the layout.
It will be the corner board up to the first switch in the loco facility - as I want somewhere to display my non-DCC locos without causing a short, and I am going to add a 3 or 4 road fiddle yard on that end as a placeholder for the interchange yard.
I may add the track for the food processing plant shown as Creole Cuisine on the trackplan but it depends how far I get with the layout at the bayou end first as there's no point adding in that industry before I've figured out the hidden storage and the mainline/switching lead, etc.
Then I've got to get some legs built to support it!
I've also got a load of paper towels that I'm going to be soaking in water/white glue mix and using to cover the bayou board with another layer of landscaping to get it looking just right.
I may then coat that in a layer of latex caulk to seal it ready for pouring the water!
