The PCB asks for a 21 pin controller and I ended up with an ESU one as recommended by Rapido. There is a matching ESU Sound available. That is an option for the future and I need to know where Rapido hides the speaker on their models.
ps. The model of the GMD-1 is to my surprise not a (small) switcher but a full blown road switcher. It as long and high as a GP15 or GP9 and very heavy. It runs very smooth and is fine detailed. A great model. I found some photos of a GMD-1 in Illinois for excuse....
This is a great text about all the different versions of the GMD-1 http://www.rapidotrains.com/gmd1class.html
