Standard MDF will take in moisture over time unless you paint it all over.
If you can get some High Moisture Resistance MDF which is what cabinetmakers use for kitchens and vanities or some HMR white melamine and even then paint the raw edges to further prevent moisture absorption.
Another option is to visit a local sign making factory and ask about perspex off cuts. You would be surprised how some of their of cuts will be enough strenghen heaps of buildings. Perspex can be cut with wood working tools but does require some considerations.

Those Faller tanks look great.

Humidity... It's in my livingroom... So i guess humidity will be 'normal' ?!?
As for alternate support materials - I'll see what I can scrounge up.
And the Faller tanks... thanks, the kit is very easy to build, parts fit together like only german Engineering can make them Misngth

I had to move the track in front of the warehouse about 1/8" to give the boxcars some clearance, I'd hate to shear details off my ยค"&& expensive models Thumbsup
