I have been asked about that tree a lot over the years, a few know the story. About 17 years ago I was building a different layout, I was planting trees on a mountain side when my youngest daughter came up to me with that nasty tree and said she would give it to me to plant on my trains. I took the tree and planted it on that layout. When the layout came down about 15 years ago I kept the tree and have been using it to mark the end of each scene I was modeling. When I get to the end of the layout (if I ever do) I will replant that tree in a spot of honor, that tree has kept me modeling all these years. So that's the story of the nasty little tree, I know it looks bad but it means the world to me.
