In case you're wondering, I fixed the "center" reference in your first post, then, after reading the replies, "saw" that it had already been addressed. I can change it back if you'd like. 
It did get me wondering, though, if the blocks were actually made using cinders or if that's simply a regional colloquialism. I did a quick search and came up with THIS. I thought that the second to last reply was interesting.
