Deano,
I have been thinking about the new layout on and off for a few years. Besides being continuous running, I have made no decisions. As you well know, I am not a "railroad guy" and I find it hard to know what is appropriate for bygone eras since i have to rely on old photos that may not apply for my layout. For that reason, I've been thinking that I may want to modernize so I can actually model things that I can see in person and not have to rely on pictures alone. Of course that means that the current layout, except for a few bldgs, would be gone (as well as my engines and rolling stock). That will cost quite a bit of cash to replace....so I am hesitant about going that route. If I were to do it I would probably pick BNSF, NS, CSX, or maybe something smaller like the Indiana Eastern RR. That is as far as my thinking has taken me.
I will finish this one in the meantime.......still looking for a structure.
