Have you considered using pieces of aluminum foil for the mirrors?

I had not, I may try now that you suggest it. It's just that those mirrors are so fragile, they included two extras and I broke three during assembly. One broke off during the photo shoot and I didn't find it until a few days later. I did add clear plastic to the windshield though,and am working on improving the looks of the AK-47, but those are the only changes that I've made so far.
