Rainbows in the Lehigh Valley Gorge

The static grass layering spray and some "Summer" and "Patchy" 4-mm static grass appeared in my box yesterday.  The static grass from WWScenics definitely has less of a "shiny" quality to the fibers.  The "summer" mix is great because it includes a variety of green and brown fibers to give a blend of grass colors in the later portion of the growing season.  The "patchy" mix is almost exclusively a brown mix.  The layering spray came in a bottle with a "spritz" applicator.  

   

After spraying my already applied base layer of grass, I was hoping that the layering spray would be a little more directional, but it disperses widely right out of the sprayer, so I ended up laying down some painter's tape where I didn't want grass and gave everything an even coat before putting down the new static grass - first the summer mix and then the patchy.  Overall, I'm pleased with the end result, and I suppose if I wanted a longer look to the grass that I could have sprayed some more layering spray tonight and added even more grass.

       

I'm going to add some more stray rocks, shrubs and trees to this area to complete the look (hopefully in the next few days).  The big advantage that I see with static grass (and Charlie showed this really well on his layout) is that you can cover a lot of area quickly.  Here are a couple of shots of the grass after vacuuming without the strips of blue tape.
