Good afternoon folks
It is a balmy 29. Our high will be 30. We have not been above freezing since January 23rd. Everything is frozen and turned to ice. We may see 33 tomorrow and end the streak.
This weekend has been a rough one. Started out Friday with frozen pipes in the master bathroom. We did not have any cold water going to the sink, toilet, and shower. We did have hot water to the sink only. Plumber came out and cut a hole in the living room ceiling but could not access the pipes. He opened a hole in the wall and applied a heat gun but could not thaw the pipes. We ran a space heater in the bathroom from about noon until the evening. At about 8 PM water started to flow again. At the moment we have no leaks, but I am wondering if we will have issues once the temperature goes above freezing.
Saturday we were supposed to run errands, but we did not. My wife and I felt lousy. She was having issues with low blood sugars, and I was again experiencing a UTI according to an over-the-counter test. For me this would be the 3rd UTI since August. We are thinking that it is actually the same infection that has been resistant to antibiotics. I am on my third antibiotic currently.
Sunday, I went to urgent care with my daughter as the driver. With her help I was able to get the grocery store, PetSmart, and the pharmacy done. I felt a little better but still not 100%. I am scheduled to have hernia surgery next week. I hope we don’t have to postpone it again due to the UTI. My wife was still having issues with blood sugar. Today she is doing much better as she has been able to adjust her medication.
I did not get any train running or assembly any rolling stock kits. I did some inventory updating on the computer. I am hoping to do something train related tonight.
Tomorrow will be fun as we have the heater repair people coming again. I have a phone appointment with the anesthesia nurse. Later in the afternoon I have an appointment with the urologist.
I hope everybody has a good day.
