Greetings, gang.
47 with some high thin clouds and a predicted high in the low to mid 70s. Currently no rain in sight for the next several days.
Another quiet day yesterday. Biggest news is that my daughter formally has a new job now that her schooling is completed. She will be starting as a surgical technician at the hospital that provided her with the scholarship to attend the school. Her current plan is to work there for 3 years to fulfill her commitment and then move to Omaha to be closer to family. I was going to ride the bike for about 12 miles yesterday but after starting out I decided that the 7 mile route was long enough. I may try the longer route today.
After lunch I decided that I really need to clean the paver blocks on the patio so I got the hose out, wet down an area, sprinkled some Mr. Clean on it, and started scrubbing with a very stiff bristled brush. It worked fairly well. I followed that up with the power washer and some more scrubbing. It will take a while to get the patio clean as I've neglected it for a few years but progress is being made. I want to get the patio clean as there will be a large contingent of family members here for the after party after my 80th birthday celebration.
I think I need to clear some minor confusion on that. I actually turned 80 back in March. If you scroll back through the campfire you'll see exactly which day to beware of (that's a hint). We're having the celebration in June as there are a lot of family members either still in school or have kids and grandkids who are still in school. Current count is probably 40 or so people just at the after party. Looking forward to lots of fun.
Charlie - sympathies on your soldering iron saga. I think we've all had days like that. But we still keep going back for more.....fun?
Gas dropped again to $4.21 yesterday.
