Charlie b's layout
Good evening.

I did get the curtain backdrops back and I am going to see if they will be useable when I have some help from my daughter, hopefully tomorrow. I know they won't all work because I didn't get the proportions right but I will get there.

I have been working on the NJ brass RT624. I have got a can motor installed and the drive shafts I had were too short but I had some brass tubing that would work by drilling out the center holes in the universal joints a tiny bit so I cut two to the proper length.

I also placed the speaker under the shaft in the rear. I had to shave the side of the speaker a tiny  bit so the shell would fit. I am going to install a TSU2200 sound decoder (for Baldwin). I already installed 2 of these with current keepers in 2 passenger sharks and the sound is incredible, even having the correct A200 Leslie honker horn that the PRR used. Not a pretty sounding horn, but I remember them from my childhood living along the tracks from 1953 until 1959. Fitting the current keeper is going to be a problem but if the one from Soundtrax won't fit I can build my own and spread the components into some nooks and crannies. The current keepers really keep them running smooth.

Before I quit tonight I painted the under body and trucks black and the shell got a coat of Brunswick Green. I may have enough Floquil left for one more locomotive. I bought 5 bottles 40 years ago and they have served well. No pictures of the paintwork because I didn't take my phone to the shed with me. I will post some tomorrow.
