Good middle of the night

Why am I awake at 2:20 AM? I am experiencing some side effects from a recent medical procedure and the medication. It is discomforting enough to keep me from sleeping at the moment. I have been keeping busy in the meantime. I built three Cambria & Indiana 2-bay hoppers from K&D Hobby Distributors/ Athearn Blue Box and three Superior Steel 2-bay from the Old and Weary Car Shop/Accurail. I also just sealed a Waddell Coal 2-bay hopper with gloss so I can renumber the car.

If I am still awake for a little longer, I have four Waddell Coal hoppers from Roundhouse/Athearn. I switched out the McHenry couplers for Kadee #5 couplers. The coupler boxes were redesigned and now the cover won’t go on correctly. The metal centering springs are a little too tall for the box. I had to order Kadee #148 whisker couplers. They arrived a couple of days ago.

For the weekend, we don’t have any solid plans for Saturday. We are trying to decide which museum we might visit. We still have a few errands to run, and then there is the laundry. Sunday my son, my daughter, and her boyfriend have offered to put up the outside Halloween decorations. Since my mama didn’t raise no dummy, I said, “I would welcome the help.”

I want to finish making up my latest train and run it and then do some video and take some photos. Before I do I need to renumber the Waddle Coal hopper and install the #148 couplers on the other four. I have more Accurail cars to renumber and build.
